and Mrs. AV. J. Mallett, of London,
formerly of Exeter, to Arthur AVil-
lia.m Hynd, also of London, the mar

ter part of June.
Mr. Arthur Jones and two sons,
Mervin and Billy and Mr. J. J. O’
Brien, of town and Mr. AVin. Jones
of Hensall, motored to Sundridge
last Saturday. They went to Noith
Buy on Sunday. Mr. O’Brien is vis
iting at Sundridge for a few weeks.

Messrs. Earl E. Christie, Stephen,
and Howard AV. Johnston, -of Cred
iton, have been successful in passing
their first year in Arts

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Broderick and
Mr. Carl F. Leipprandt, -of Pigeon,

tended the Bell family reunion. Mrs.
Broderick and Mrs. Rowcliffe are
sisters.
Miss Geraldine Armstrong, who
recently underwent an operation in
St. Joseph’s Hospital in London for
appendicitis has been seriously ill
with a day and night nurse in at
tendance. At present she is getting
along nicely.
The coroner’s inquest into the
deaths of the late Adam Birk and
Miss -Lindenfield, who were killed in
an accident at the railway crossing
on the Lake Road -on Friday, June
1st, will be held by Dr. O’Dwyer,
coroner, -on Thursday morning be
ginning at ten o’clock.
The young people of James -Street
United church presented their play
“Civil Service” at Zion -on Tuesday
evening of last week. They will
present it next Monday at Granton
under the auspices of the St. Thomas’
Anglican church and the following
evening they go to Nissouri. They
are also booked for Kir-kton.
Mr. B. W. Grigg and daughter Mrs.
Wheatley and the latter’s little
daughter Cecile, of Montreal, visited
for a few days with the former’s sis
ter, Miss M. Grigg and Miss McFaul.
Last summer Mr. Grigg, Mrs. Wheat-
ley and daughter spent three months
visiting in England and Scotland
and a year ago they were visiting in
Exeter, England, and spent some
time in Devonshire.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. L. Butler, Lon
don, and Mr. and Mrs. John, Baker,
of Victoria B. C. and Mr. Jos. Speare
of Cromarty, spent Sunday afternoon
with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Perkins
and attended the service in James St.

Mrs. Baker were former residents of
Exeter where Mr. Baker was employ
