When a fire wiped out several places of business at Thorndale lust week the home of Mr. O. C. Ward, formerly of Exeter, was partly des troyed. Mr. Ward and family were wakened, when somebody shouted fke, the fife being well under way at the time. 'They escaped by a very close margin this time.
