Russell McKay at Hagersviile, 4 She was born at Exetev and was in her 60th year hut spent most of her life in Hensali, She was mat* ried to Mr. McKay same thirty ,^ears ago an4 was a (devoted wife and mother and highly respected by all who knew her, Besides her hus­ band she leaves to mourn, her loss; three daughters, Mrs- Wm, Shepherd of Hensali; Miss Lily McKay, of Windsor and Miss Marion at horiie. Two sons also survive Mr. Lewis McKay, who js attending University in England and Dr. Russell McKay, of' Hagersviile and one. sister Mrs, Geo, Walker; and two brothers Fred and Garnet Gmallacombe, of GUelph. The remains were brought to Hensali on Monday where the fun­ oral service was held in the United .church at 2.30 where a. large num­ ber of friends paid their last respect to the deceased. The funeral was in charge of Rev, A. Sinclair assisted by the Rev, Mr. Barker, of St Paul’s church. The floral tributes from friends were most beautiful. After the service in the church interment took place in Hensa.il Union cemetery. Mr. McKay and family have the sincere .sympathy of the Hensali people in the hour of their great bereavement. THE BUYER SAVES” We Deliver a few days ; Seriously Injured in Accident A serious accident happened on Saturday afternoon to Mr. John Carr •michael and Dr. McTaggart while they were going to Seaforth to at­ tend the races. They turned out to pas^- a truck and* while turning back jdiit'o the iroad again the car being a light one swung into the other ditch, smashing into the fence and also a telephone pole. The car was badly smashed and both men were rulished to the Seaforth hospital in an un- concious condition; but at the time writing they have rallied „and are showing some improvement. The car belonged to Mr. Carmichael and was a valuable one. He just came from Detroit the day before to spend a few’ days in town. Their many friends hope for a speedy recovery. JnOWEY, DRUGGIST The Celebration The celebration which was held here last Wednesday under the aus­ pices of the Community Field Com­ mittee did. not prove the success ex­ pected on account of the weather. Two games- of baseball were played between Lieury and Crediton. Each team winning one game. At night a football match was played between Centralia and the Old Country team of Exeter. The boys were playing under (difficulties on account of the wet ground but proved a fine lot of spoirts and were anxious to give *the public something for their money. In the evening the play entitled “The Colonel’s Maid” was given: in tke Town Hall to a large audience. The play was very well rendered and re-, fleeted a great deal' of credit not' only on the actors but on those who •trained, them. Unfortunately Rev. Hagelstein wag” unable to take- his part on account of illness. Mr. Proc­ tor, of Belgrave, substituted for him and was the means of making a splendid success of this entertain­ ment. The Committee have realiz­ ed the net proceeds of something -over $80.00. Colling conducted a very impressive Sacramental and Memorial Service in the United Church on Sunday. 150 partook of the sacrament and relatives and friends of those who have passed away (17 in'all) during Mr. Colling’s pastorate were present to- do honour to their beloved dead. The choir and Male Quartette assisted in the ser­ vices. Next Sunday will be Mr. Colling’s last service as pastor of the United Church. A full attendance of membership is requetesed. After a bounti­ ful .supper Rev. L. White of Elim­ ville introduced the members iof the cast from the Zion Church, and they entertained with the play entitled “Cranberry Corners.” The different characters were well represented and humor and pathos were shown and the general verdict was “It was a good clean play and well rendered.” The orchestra music between acts deserves its share of praise also.
