The attendance was some what larger than any previous year and the program was. equal to any former program of like occasion. The room in every way presented the .appearance of a real banquet hall. At’ seven o’clock the march began from the church auditorium to rooms below with an instrumental march played by Miss Clara Morlocfc and Ruby Finkbeiner. After -the banquet, the toastmaster, W. M. Sippell announced the beginning, of the program which was a candle, lighting exercise by ten girls, con cluded with an appropriate solo by: Mrs. Albert Gaiser. Toast -to the '“King” and “Canada” were present ed and .all the guests responded in the usual ceremonial manner; piano, solo by Miss Addiieen Gaiser; reci tation by Aldona Wuerth; vocal solo by Mrs. Gordon Morlock, entitled “Wonderful Mother to “Our Mothers” Thompson; solo by monologue by Miss, toast to “Our Daughters” by Mrs. Art' Amy; vocal solo by Miss Alice Hoffman, of Dashwood; three min utes of sing-song after which the speaker of the evening was introduc ed Mrs. N. Trewartha, of Clinton, who delivered an able and inspira tional address on “Our Homes and Canada Our Country”; resolution of praise for the Dorcas Class was given by Mr. Art Amy, the superintendent, vocal duet by Mr. and Mrs. Sippell, concluding with a piano duet by Miss Clara Morlock' and Miss Lavina Smith. Mrs. Emmery Fahner was' the efficient piano, accompanist throughout the program. July 3rd a Strawberry Festival will be held on the lawn of the Evan gelical Church property. Extensive preparations will be made ot supply for a large crowd and an interesting program is. under way. The Ladies’ Aid of the -congregation cordially in vites the public to attend. Further 'particulars later. Tlife College Glee Club of Naper ville, Ill., will give a concert in the town hall on the evening of July- the lO.th. This promises to be -the best treat of t-he season. About 100 leaguers at-, tended the morning service conduct ed by the pastor, while more visit ors came later in the day. In the afternoon an oratorical contest was held sevent speakers taking part. Following the service every one en joyed an outing to Grand Bend. The evening service which was. very well attended was conducted by Rev. A. Pollex, of Sebringville. Special music was provided by the massed choirs of Sebringville, Mitchell and Stratford. Dashwood will observe Wednesday afternoon as a half-holiday during June, July and August. EXETER, ONT. About forty of the newly organ ized young people met at Spring bank last Friday and had an enjoy- .able time.
