AX the baseball tournament stag­ ed on Victoria Day at St. Marys in connection with' -the Rotary Club, Boy’s Sportsj Heiisall defeated St. Marys 4-1, and Ilddrton 7-1 in the finals and carried off first prize. Victoria Day passed quietly in the village, no celebration taking place here. The baseball team went to St. Marys. Quite a number took .in the races at Mitchell and quite a few spent the day at Grand Bend. Hensall team was; M'edd ,Cante- Ion, Brintnell, Gascho, Rennie, Hor­ ton, Scruton, Hedden and Nichol. The Hensall team are being congrat-, iilated on their success. ’The W. M. S. of the Carmel Pres­ byterian church held .a birthday on Friday afternoon in the basemgnj; of the cliurch. ‘ A solo was rendered by Mrs. J. AV. Bonthorn and Mrs. Jas. A.
