eclipse of the son
A two-third eclipse of the sun will
occur on Monday, April 28, when the
moon will cast its maximum shadow
at 3.20 p.m. Visible in this district,
the eclipse, which will not he spec
tacular, will be best seen through
smoked glasses or over exposed film.
The eclipse will commence shortly
before 2 p.m. and will gain in ex
tent until 64 per cent, of the sun’s
diameter is. in shadow at 3.20, It
will cease at 4;29 and at no time
will the corunna be visible.

The death took place ‘in Bayfield
of James William Fowlie whose wife
predeceased him a month ago. Mr.
Fowlie was well known by all resi
dents of Bayfield and surrounding
country as he carried on a success-,
ful blacksmithing business until
some eight or nine years ago, when
he retired from active work. He is
survived by two brothers and
sister.
The death occurred in Seaforth of
Mr. Adam MacKay. The deceased
had been in failing health for the
past three years and at times was an
intense sufferer. Mr. McKay was
born in Zorra Township 68 years ago
and about 3 8 years ago he came to
Seaforth where he has since resided,
lie' was an expert engineer and for
the past 18 years had been superin
tendent of the town.
