Councillor Cameron reported the work of the Town Hall commit tee in fixing over the public library, and that the work would be com pleted this week. The Reeve reported on his inter view with Mr. Frank P. Gibbs, of Stratford, Chartered Accountant, as to the cost of an audit of the town book and the council recommended that Mr. Gibbs be employed and make the audit as soon as possible. A motion was passed to recind the. order appointing Joseph Hudson and Ray McArthur, auditors for 1930. A number of accounts were pre sented and ordered i>aid on of Consitt and Cameron. Services in the morn ing at 9.45 and in the evening at 7.00. Rev. E. D. Becker of Elmira and a former pastor of the church will ho the anniversary speaker. The community is cordially invited W. M. Sippell, pastor. The W.M.S. services of last Sun day evening brought out a very com mendable congregation. The funeral of the late Mrs. Eva Finkbeincr who died -Tuesday morn ing January 29th at the home oi’ her daughter’ Mrs. Ernest McAlpine, of McGillivrary Township, was held Friday afternoon. Brief services at the home after which they proceeded to' the Crediton Evangelical ceme tery for burial. Services were con ducted at the Evangelical church Rev. Sippell officiating. Her sons and daughters and a number of grandchildren were present. High tribute was given- the departed as being a mother of exceptional qual ities; energetic, industrious,- jovial and faithful in her spiritual duties, Husband, one daughter and one son have proceeded her in death. When the bride-to-be arriv ed she was escorted into the ro»m by Master Orland Squires and Miss Alma Skinner while Miss Mildred Mitchell played “Here Comes the Bride”. In one corner of the room stood an arch of pink and white sus pended from which was a large wedding bell. The presents were placed in a cradle 'decorated in pink .and white Over which was thrown a cover in the sanie harmonizing col ours, Vera received many costly and beautiful gifts and expressed her thanks in a very pleading man ner. Johns held a quilting bee on Wednesday afternoon Of last week when quite a number of her friends and neighbors met and had a very- enjoyable afternoon. Rev. and Mrs. White and children returned home from Windsor and Chatham last week where they had been attending the funeral of Mrs. White’s father also visiting Rev. White’s mother, Who has been very ill -but whose condition has consid erably improved, Miss Jessie Brooks, of London and Miss Delbridge, of were visitors at Mr. last week. The play entitled put on by Woodham Young People, in this church on Monday night was decidedly good in every way. The actors did their’ parts in a very cap able manner and the play was clean and wholesome and kept the large crowd in good spirits throughout. The Mill'S Bros, music was as usual good and helped greatly in the ev ening’s enjoyment. The proceeds ex ceeded $50,00. The sleighing has been consider ably freshened .by the heavy fall of snow on Sunday and the mild weath er since has been a real treat after the excessive cold* to bet on what it sees, print.
