being extended by the Reeve. Mr,
McTavish expressed his appreciation.
The Reeve addressed the council
'extending a welcome to the new
members and congratulating all. on
their election. He, asked for the ap
pointment of two members to act as a
Striking committee. Per councillor
Grieve seconded by councillor Row
cliffe .that councillors Rivers and
Bierling with the Reeve act as mem-
'hers of this committee.

A large crowd was dissappointed
on Friday evening of last week when
it was learned the Rev. H. Savage,
of Pontiac, Mich., was unable to ar
rive in Exeter to give his lecture in.
the Main St, Church. Mr. Savage
motored to Lucan from London and
finding that the highway was block
ed between Lucan and Exeter tele
phoned up that he would be unable
to be’ present. Main Street church,
and many others who were desirous
of hearing Mr. Savage, were disap-;
pointed. There were several who
drove into Exeter from a distance of
