The meeting did not start at 2.30 as Santa Claus, who was heavily laden with presents got stuck in the snow on the London Road and bad to send in for help. Tom Murdock came to the rescue with his horse and big cutter and landed Santa Claus in town in good shape. Reeve Robert Higgins acted as chairman and after a few words of welcome called on Santa.
