Public Utilities Commission
The Public Utilities Contrnissiory of Exeter is perhaps not as
well' understood by the Citizens in general as it might be. The Pub -
lie Utilities Commission is in reality' the citizens of Exeter doing
business for therhselves. If the operating expenses are higher than
the revenue the usorw of ,hydro and water must pay the deficit and
on the other hand if•the commission can show a profit these profits
are divided among the users. Each year the Commission have been
able to show a substantial surplus and these front tithe to time have
come back to the users in the form of reduced rates. Every dollar
the commission earns is a dollar earned for the people so that this'
is one institution. that should receive the loyal support of the com-
munity. The Public Utilities handle all kinds of electrical appli-
ances. The Commission consists of Wm. Ward, Chairman; Paul
Coates and the Reeve, bet any reference to the Commission would
not be complete without reference to Mr. J. R. hind, who for years
was the efiecient chairman retiring last year. The Secretary -Treas-
urer is Mr. H. W. Doerr.
