South Huron Election in Doubt
Conservatives Elected 90, Liberals
9, Progressives 4, Liberal-Progres-
sives
iteral-Progressives 1, U. F. O. 1 • Doubtful 6
As we go to press this morning the
;results of the election in South Hu-
ron are in doil'bt, Atter working
until. a late hoar and with many
long distance telephone calls trying
.to check up on the figures we place
Mr. j\ledd's majority at 10, Mrr
Ford, returning officer at Clinton,
gives Mr. Elliott a small majority.
It is not likely that the correct re-
turns will be known until the deputy
returning officers file their returns
with the returning officer. Which
ever way it goes it is likely that a
recount will be held. At a late hour
Wednesday evening it was announc-
ed
that Elliott had been elected by
over two hundred of a majority.
hater this was reduced to over one
hundred.
Mr. Elliott's election was celebrat-
ed at Clinton and .Seaforth.
• Following are the returns as we
have been able to tabulate 'them.
We cannot vouch for the accuracy of
them but we have tried to check up
as completely as possible.
