After the minutes >o£ the previous meetings (regular and special) were read and adopted, the report of Geo. A. McCubbin, O.L.S., M.E.I.C., on the “Wein Drain*’ was read pursuant to notices mailed to all the assessed parties who were given an opportun­ ity to withdraw their names from the petition if they so desired and there being no withdrawals, the re­ port was accepted and the By-law provisionally adopted. It was order­ ed that the By-law be printed and served on the interested parties and that a Court of Revision he held at the Town Hall, on Tuesday, Septem­ ber the 3rd, 1929, at 1 p.m. Tenders were opened for the con­ struction of the. Flynn, O’Leary and Pollock bridges. Moveijl by Mr. W. S. was held on Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs, Geo. Squire. Mrs. John Hazelwood had charge of the meeting which opened with the Doxology followed by the Lord’s prayer. Hymn 391 was sung followed by prayer by several mem­ bers after which the Scripture lesson was read by Mrs. George Squire, Deut. 8: 1-10. ’The Devotional leaf­ let ‘'The Christian Stewardship Plan and Pledge’’ was. read by Mrs. Frank Squire followed by another hymn 35 8, A suggestive program was car­ ried out first speaker Mrs. Will Mor­ ley and Mrs. Edgar Squire, Mrs. J. Hodgson, Mrs. D. Johnson, Mrs, (Rev.) gave a short address and sev­ eral responses from the Watch Towel1 were given. Hymn 182 was then sung followed by the benedic­ tion by Mrs. J. Hodgson which closed the meeting. Tea was then served and a social time was spent by all. HARPLEY (Intended for last week,)- Mrs. Wm. Fallis, of Ontario, Cal., visited with friends in our. neighbor­ hood the past week. Misses Greta Isaac and Winnifred Bastin, of London, visited at David Eagleson’s over the week-end. Mr. Nelson Hickey, of Detroit, is visiting relatives here. Misses Ruth and Helen Love are visiting with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Gill. Miss Della Lovie visited with her parents Mr. and Mrs. G. Lovie over the week-end. Miss Natlialia Hutchinson visited with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Carruthers Sr. last week. Finkbeiner and daughter Miss Hazel, of Strat­ ford, visited recently in town. Miss Lydia E. Faust, who. spent a week in Stratford returned with them. Mr. Ernie Meyers, who has been at London taking treatment for some time has returned to the vicin­ ity of Zurich where he will remain for a time. Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Denomy, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Denomy Sr., and Mrs. Edwin Hartman motored to Niagara Falls last week and report a most pleasant trip. Mr. Lambert P. Klopp, of Phila­ delphia, Pa., spent several days with his mother, Mrs. Wm. Klopp and with his brothers and sisters in near­ by towns. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan and daughter Dorothy also of Philadel­ phia, also accompanied him.
