TENDERS FOR POSTOFFICE ' The Department of Public Works, Ottawa, are calling for tenders for a' new postoffice for Exeter, Blue­ prints, plans and specifications are how on exhibition at the- postoffice. The plans call for a one-storey build­ ing, with a 26 foot frontage to be ejected in the centre of what is call­ ed Federal Park. A.,', Davis, aged 66 years and five months. Mr. Davis was a formei- resident of Exeter having spent his early- life here. He was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Fisher and together they started them mar- *rIetV. He was a son of the late Wm. and Susan Davis of Exeter and besides bis bereaved wi­ dow 1^. survived by three brothers and five sisters: Abraham, of Lon­ don; "Mrs. (Dr.) Hamilton, of Hol­ landale, Wis.; Mrs. AL E. Gardiner, of.Meaford; Mrs. Jarvis Dickson, of Chatham; Mrs. E. Taylor, of Lon­ don; Geopge, of Barwack,’’Northern Ontario; and' Ernest of Exeter. The remains were brought to Exeter by motor on Sunday the funeral being held Sunday afternoon conducted by ’Rev. C. J. Moorhouse. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. (Dr.) McDon­ ald; Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Gardiner, Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Dickson,' Mr. and Mrs Ed. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hulb'bert, Mrs. Walter Fos­ ter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Way, of London; Mr. Arthur Gannon, of Forest; and Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Ward, of North Buxton. One of the sad features at the funeral was the sudden death of a sister Mrs. Thos. Terry, of Lon­ don. Mrs. Terry took ill at the graveside and passed away the same evening. STRICKEN AT FUNERAL DIES AFTER FEW HOURS Mrs. Thos. Terry, of Loudon, died suddenly in Exeter, about nine o’clock Sunday evening from the effects of a stroke suffered at tbe funeral of her brother the late Wm. A. Davis. Mrs. Terry’s maiden name was Harriet Davis. She had- been in Hamilton owing to the death Of her brother and had with other members of the family accompanied the remains to Exeter. At the grave­ side in the afternoon about 2:30 O’clock Mrs. Terry was taken sud­ denly ill. She was removed to the home of her brother M’r. Ernest Davis where she was attended by Dr. Dunlop and her physician Dr. Angus McLean, of London, who was summoned from Grand Bend. Mrs. Terry who wag born in Exeter had lived in London for the past twenty- five years.?. sne is survived by her husband, who is president and gen­ eral manager of the London Air, Transport Co., and two daughters Mrs. W, Hulbert, of London and Mrs. W. Fassold, of drumlin; also by three brothers and five ’ sisters the names of whom appear in the obit­ uary of the late Wm. A. Davis. The members of the family who were here attending the funeral remain­ ed over to attend the funeral of Mrs. Terry in London on Tuesday. Miss Gladys Hunkin, of London, spent the week-end with her parents .Mr. and Mrs. J. Hunkin. Monday was Civic Holiday -and all places of business were closed. Many spent the day at the lake. Mollard left on Saturday last to spend a day or two with her brother, Rev. Percy Banes, in Sal­ ford.
