Mr. Grant Collingwood has return- to Toronto after spending his vaca tion here, and with his sister at Ar- kona. Mr. Stanley Walter of the Bank of Montreal staff has returned, after holidaying in Hamilton for a couple of weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. J. Nash, of Wingham, visited with -Mrs. Nash’s sister Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Powell on Monday. Mrs. McAvoy and Miss Annie Sanders spent the Twelfth of July in Wingham and are visiting there for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Quance and son Clifford, Mrs. J. W. Powell and daughter Marion spent a few days last week at Grand Bend. Mrs. C. R. Howard, of New York, sang a solo in James St. Church on Sunday evening much- to the enjoy ment of the congregation. Mr. Wm. Birney, of Winnipeg, ar rived in town on Friday last and is spending, his holidays with his par ents Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Birney. Mr. G. S, Howard is sporting a new De Soto sedan. Beavers’ maiden name was Senn. All her family were present at the re-union. We extend congratulations to. Miss •May Sims, a twelve year old pupil of the Entrance class wlio headed the inspectorate on the recent examina tion. (She is the winner of the dis trict scholarship given by the school board. The first, second and -third scholarships given to the Exeter class were won by Clifford Heywood, Doreen Caldwell and Edith Brooks. Sixteen were successful out of a class of nineteen. Th© annual picnic of the mem bers of the Hunkin family was held at Grand Bend on Wednesday, July 10th with fairly good, attendance. About 80 sat down to the Well-laden supper tables. During the afternoon there were races for the children and, every oiie "enjoyed a good- time?
