' “Mother and Daughter” banquet will again be held this year in the Sunday School auditorium of the Evangelical church on June 20 th. This will be another splendid social function of the Dorcas Band. The mothers and daughters of the Evan gelical church and communities are cordially invited. We have now passed two patriotic holidays, May 24th and June 3rd. Formerly we had at least a base ball game to attract our attention for a few hours and remind us somewhat of a celebration but there has been nothing so far this year and we miss it. Single men, young married men, town fathers, business men and citizens arouse yourselves again. Instead of running to the villages and cities of the surround ing districts make us feel like stay ing in our own little town for coin- mendable amusement as well as for business. Children’s Day next Sunday at the Evangelical church. The services in the morning will be accompanied by a junior choir which is attract ing considerable interest. The Sun day School also will'/have some in teresting touches. The 'classes vie with each other as to which will get the largest average offering for mis sions. The real program will be in the evening beginning at 7:30. The orchestra opens the evening’s festiv ity with a selection “Fraternity Overture” and a .carefully prepared and interesting program follows.
