*waa made glad when the rain began
fall. ^The refreshing showers
'-which have fallen have materially;
Ibenefitted vegation.
On Monday last the villagers
thought on looking down the road
•that a train of Credit Valley Rail-
’way cars was approaching, but af-
1 <er, waiting anxiously for some time
£4iey found that the train was made
up of seven iop buggies. There were
fifteen more camo in yesterday. The
vehicles came from Uncle Sam’s pro
perty.
It has not been necessary for tile
watering cart to go its rounds this
week so far, too frequent showers
having effectually laid the dust.
The crops in the surrounding
townships look well. The abund
ance of rain which has fallen during
the present month has been very
beneficial to the spring crops. From
present appearances a bountiful har-
vest may be confidently expected.
