Mrs. John Hunter has received word of the .death of her uncle, the late Simon Downie, of Carstairs, Al- ■ta., which took place April !28th. The deceased who was in his 80th year was a former resident of this community. Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Camm, of Bridgeburg, called on friends in Exe­ ter Monday on their return from a visit to Blyth. Mr. Camm opened UR. a drug business, in Bridgeburg two years ago and is doing .a, splendid business. He drove up in a fine new Oldsmobile car. She is improving as well as can be expected. * BALL BOYS DOWN TO PRACTICE ’ The Exeter ball boys are rounding into shape for the opening game of the W.O.B.A; which wijl take place ill- London on May, 24th at 3 p.m. Several stiff practices were held last week and when the weather is fine the boys will be found on the dia­ mond three nights "a .week, They are showing great form and .should give a good account of themselves. Mr. R. G. Seldon, president of the Columbia Handle Works, has pre­ sented the team with a dozen fine bats. A great deal of work has been spent in fixing up the diamond which will be in excellent- shape, both the infield and outfield.
