Ladies’ Aid successful cooking sale at the sample rooms of the Central Hotel on Sat urday afternoon. The run of sap so far this season, has not been up to some years but the quality ’ is- excellent. There have been a "few good runs. [Mr. Chester Cornish, who recently underwent an operation at the Exeter Hospital, was sufficiently recovered as to be able to return to his home on Saturday last. Messrs. W. J. Beer and E. Russell were in Hamilton the latter part of last week attending the .Westing house electric range convention. They' report a very fine time, Mr.’and Mrs? James Baigent and the former’® brother Wilfred mo tored over Sunday owing to the ill ness of their mother, Mrs. Baigent, who is quite ill at the home of Miss Wynn. Mr. and Mrs. James Jewell have returned home after spending the winter with'their daughters, Mr. and Mrs. W. Bradt, of London,- and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McAllister, of Mt. Brydges. Master Douglas Harness, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Harness and Freddie Simmons-were playing, on a w'ood, pile and it fell over and buried the boys. Douglas had’ three stitches put in his forehead-above the right eye to close the wouhd. Mr. Freeman Perkins, of Usborne, held a successful auction sale of farms stobk- and implements recently and hag moved to Exbter, into 'the resi dence of the late Thomas Kernick. We understand Mr. Perkins intends going west this spring. • Tomorrow is Good Friday and a public holiday and Easter combs on Sunday. Monday is a bank holiday and the banks in town will be closed for that day. School stops Thursday evening and will remain closed until 'April the 8tli. Mrs. R. H.
