BRIGGS SEED CS™. >* - “CAUkMi.aMkfesr stett house u TORONTO-HAMILTON-WINMIPEG-REGIMA-EDMONTON DEATH OF TWO Old) RESIDENTS Whalen wqs twice visited in twen­ ty-four hours by the grim reaper,: Death, when on Sunday noon, Mr. Timothy Mackie passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J, Wheli* han, ami at 7 a.m. Monday Mr. Pat Kehoe passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs, Pat McGee, and so for two days these two old friends lay at the homes on the two joining farms on the Biddulph-Usborne Townline, west of Whalen. Mr. Mackie was in his SOtlx year and was born on the farm on the 10th of Biddulph, which he worked, .and on which liis son, Mr. Jim Machie now resides, until a few years ago, when he came to live with his daughter at Whalen. He was a man of a quiet, kindly nature but with a fine sense of humor, His wife, formerly Miss Lamphier, died 17 years ago, and an­ other daughter, Alice, died, as a re­ sult of being badly burned when the house was destroyed by fire some years ago. He is survived by three daughters and one son, James, on the homestead, (and Mrs. J. Whelihan (Nellie) and Margaret and Mary, of Hamilton; also one brother John in Michigan, ap'd who attended the fun­ eral,, which was held to St. Patrick’s R. C. Church and cemetery on Tues­ day morning, and which was follow­ ed by a large concourse of relatives and friends, Mr. Patrick Kehoe was a life-long resident of Whalen, having been born on the old homestead which his par­ ents, the late >Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Kehoe, hewed from the bush on the Usborne' side of the UsbOrne-Bid- dulph Townline about 70 years ago. He was of a retiring nature and very kindly to all. He was the youngest of a family of three and lived until a year and a half ago on the old home, but on the death of the dear­ ly loved sister, Johannah, he went to live with his remaining sister, Mrs. McGee who with three nephews sur­ vive.
