Hess, clerk Zurich ; Mrs, Eickmeier, of Broadhagen, is spending a few weeks visiting with her son, Mr, and Mrs. Eickmeier, of the village. The sad news was received by tele­ gram of the death of Harold', the 14- year-old gon of Mr. and Mrs. H. Ben­ der, of Detroit, and formerly of Zu­ rich. The death took place at her home at Bayfield recently of Mrs, John D. Woods, in her 73rd year* About two months ago she was taken ill with the flu, her death resulting, (She is survived by two daughter and two sons, Mrs, A|ex Sparks, of London and Mrs. T. L. Wurm, of Zurich and two sons, Mr. Livingston Woods, of Toledo, Ohio and Nesbitt Woods, of Toronto. The ceremony was performed at the Evangelical parsonage, Zurich, by Rev. W. Y. Dreier, of Mary Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs» Jacob Schwartaenfruber, of the Bronso®' Line, Nay Township, was united marriage to Mr. Bdmuud aegcli, £o# of Mr, and Mrs. M« Oesch, of Goshen Line, Hay. They wore sub* ported by Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gascho. That By-law No. 3, 1929, confirm­ ing appointments of the various Road Commissioners for the year 1929 be read three times and finally passed. That By-law No. 4, 1929 relating to the Ptsebe and Aux Sable Rivers Improvement be read two, times and provisionally adopted and that a Court of Revision to consider appeals be held in the Town Hall, Zurich, on Saturday, March 30th, 1929, at two o'clock in the afternoon. Ballantyne, Reeve and Coun­ cillors Berry, Dew, Skinner and Wil­ liams were all present. A resolution of Berry-Skinner was passed by the council of the Co. of Huron at its recent meeting urg­ ing the Hydro Electric Power Com­ mission of Ontario to proceed with the development of power on the Maitland River that a copy be for­ warded to the Premier of Ontario and the two local members of the County. The Reeve gave a lengthy report of the Ontario Township Roads Con­ vention and also the Good Roads Conference which he had attended. The £>tewart Drain Repair Report, of which, due notice had been given was read and approved. A number of interested ratepayers were pres­ ent. The proposed work calls for an expenditure of $365S.15, to be • borne by the area in the Townships of. Usborne and Hibbert.. The report was provisionally ad­ opted’ on motion of Williams-Skin­ ner and the clerk was instructed to have the necessary By-law printed and distributed to assessed parties and that a Court of Revision be held on Saturday, April the 6th at 3:00 o’clock. I. was held' on Thursday, February the 28th at the home of Mrs. Chas. Allison .with a large attendance. The meeting open­ed in the usual manner with tlie president, Mrs. Kestle “in the chair. The Roll Call “An Apple’ Recipe” was well answered. The Correspond­ ence and minutes of the last meeting were read and several items of busi­ ness were discussed. The program 'put on by the Junior members con­ sisted of a duett by the Misses Pym, a reading by Miss A. Strang, an in­ strumental by Miss Reta Oke and an amusing dialogue acted out by the Misses Reta pke, Lila Pym, Lilia Oke, Marie Squires, Ve$ia Oke, Nora Oke and Annie IStrang. Community singing was also enjoyed. Two con­ tests and an apron exhibit were put on before lunch was served by the hostesses' in charge. The next meet­ ing wjll be held at the home of Mrs. Wf Jeffrey. It will be Children’s Day ahdJ Rev. C. J.
