Mrs. Munroe and daughtei’ have been visiting over the holidays in Lindenfield, POST-NUPTIAL SHOWER A very pleasant evening was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. Hig­ gins on Thursday evening of last week, when about twenty-five friends of Mrs. Bertram North, formerly Miss Flora Riggins, a bride of the week, met and held a miscellaneous shower in her honor. The first part of the evening was devoted to contests and -games, prize winners being as follows, Miss iM. Spencer, Misses Grace Ston'e, Alma Scruton, Elva Shaddock and Miss Ruby Mc­ Laren. Following the contests Miss Louise Drummond sjakI Miss ^Ruby McLaren rendered very beautiful solos, which were very much, appre­ ciated by all present. A pleasing diversion of the program was the appearance of Miss Gladys Luker, who made a very charming: ‘groom’ and who was accompanied by his captivating "bride” Miss Bertha Corbett, who very pleasantly enter­ tained the company after which Mr. and Mrs. North, accompanied by the guests proceeded to the dining-room where a large number of useful handsome gifts were on display, bride and groom very nicely pressed their appreciation for lovely gifts with which they been presented. Mr. John Lippert and old ami re­ spected resident of Dashwood died suddenly at his liome here early Sunday morning. Mr. Lippert had reached the age of 79 years, 5 months and 8 days and leaves his aged widow and a grown-up family. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon to the Exeter Cemetery. McFalls, of Centralia, re­ ceived word on Tuesday, of the death of his sister, Mrs. Atkinson, who resided in Detroit. Miss Rheta Pollen is holidaying at her home here, Successful Shooting Match A very successful shooting match was held at Farquhar last Thursday. There was quite a large crowd from the surrounding country. Twenty ducks were shot for, 15 in the guh class and five in rifles. More could have been shot for if the daylight had held on longer.
