"Spin" returned home on Tues-
day while Mrs. Ervine and
Mary Elizabeth remained with
her parents for the week.

and baby Derek, London, came
on Sunday to spend Christmas
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
George Bellchamber. They re-
turned to London on Tuesday
evening,
Mary Lou Castle is staying
with her grandparents, 'Mr. and
Mrs. George Castle and her sis-
ter, Nancy is with her other
grandmother, Mrs. 0, Huckings
in 'Goderich, while their mother
is in hospital.
L. B. Smith accompanied by
Mrs, Harold King joined Mrs:
Smith who has been in Lon-
don for two weeks to have
Christmas at the home of their
daughter, Mrs. Ed. Prowse and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Larson
and Karen who spent Christmas
in Owen Sound called on his
parents, Mr, and Mrs. R. J.
Larson on Saturday and again.
on Tuesday on their return to
London.
Miss Brenda Blair who came
home last Thursday to spend
Christmas with her parents,
Mr, and Mrs. R. S. Blair, will
return to her studies at St.
Thomas and Elgin General
School of Nursing on Friday.

Mrs. Percy Weston was in
Zurich with her nephew Francis
Kipper from Monday to Thurs-
day last week owing to the
death of her sister, Mrs. Her-
bert Bender, She returned home
with her husband who was also
there for the funeral.
Mrs. James Hutchings (after
being a patient in Clinton Pub-
lic Hospital for nine weeks fol-
lowing a fracture to her leg)
was brought home on Saturday
to recuperate. James Hutch-
ings, Komoka was home over
the long weekend.
Miss Jacqueline, Vicki and
Judi Cluff, London, have been
with their mother, Mrs. J. Cluff
over the weekend. Robert Cluff
who was also home returned to
London on Christmas evening
to have dinner at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. J. Tillman.
Mrs. John Fraser entered
Victoria Hospital, London, for
treatment on December 14. She
was given leave of absence to
spend Sunday and Monday with
her daughter, Mrs, William •C.
Parker, London. John Fraser
joined his wife there for the
two days with the family.
Marion Francis, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Reg Francis, un-
derwent an emergency appen-
dectomy in Clinton Public Hos-
pital early Wednesday evening

return to Toronto today
(Thursday) after having been
with her husband's parents for
Christmas, Russell Flowers,

ents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Flow-
ers over the Christmas week-
end.
Stephen Scotchmer, Queen's
University, Kingston, came on
Wednesday of last week to sp-
end the two weeks Christmas
vacation with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Alf F. Scotchmer.
With the latter on Christmas
Day were Mrs. J. Cluff, Robert
Cluff, Misses Jacqueline, Vicki
and Judi Cluff, London.
Miss Jacqueline Cluff attend-
ed Marman-Jackson wedding on
Tuesday at Old St. Paul's Ang-
lican Church, Woodstock, and
the reception which followed at
the Terrace Gardens, Wood-
stock. Miss Vicki and Judi ac-
companied 'her to London on
Tuesday, and returned in the
evening. Judi returns to Lon-
don to-day.
Howard Scotchmer, London
Teachers College, is spending
the vacation with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Scotchmer,
Miss Marilyn Rathwell was
their guest on Christmas Day,
and in the evening Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Pounder, Johnny,
Cathy and Mary Beth, who had
been in Stratford joined the
family, They returned to Chat-
ham on Tuesday afternoon.

with his son Grant and family.

Mr and Mrs. Donald Sager,
Nicky, Clare and Tommy, Gode-

Ice Skating
Local young folk hoped that
the arena would be open for
skating on Wednesday. The
weather turned soft so they
couldn't go on the ice. Robert
Orr is in charge of the ice this
year, A minor hockey team is
to be picked from Bayfield and
surrounding district public
schools. The coaches are Percy
Renner and Adam Flowers.

Nine Carols
Christmas services in Trinity
Church were all well-attended.
Those giving the scripture read-
ings in the Nine Carol Service
on Sunday morning were: the
rector, Rev. E. J. B. Harrison,
R. A. Simons, Stephen How-
ard and Michael Scotchmer,
James A Cameron and J. B.
Higgins.
Those taking solo parts in
the carols were Linda Pierson,
Gayle Turner, Janet Graham,
Mrs. J. B. Higgins. The choir
sang as an anthem "What Ch-
ild 'Is This?" Mrs, Featherston
was at the organ and the choir
was under the direction of Mrs.
J. B. Higgins.
The Rev. E. J. B. Harrison
was the celebrant for the mid-
night Communion and also for
the service at 9.30 on Christ-
mas morning. Mrs. J. B, Hig-
gins played the organ for the
mid-night services.
The church was beautifully
decorated with wreaths, gar-
lands, memorial flowers on the
altar, and red poinsettias.
