Done without sten- cils, the free-hand drawings are in bright colours. The effect does credit to the youngsters, and to their teachers, and is a sight well worth driving up around the school drive to see. The meeting was closed with prayer by Dr. D. J. Lane. Ladies Aid The Ladies Aid of Knox Pres- byterian Church held their last meeting of the year with the president, Mrs, Ed Davies in charge. The minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs. Roy Daer. She also gave the finan- cial statement. The members decided to send the donation to the Deaconess Home in memory of the late Mrs. D. J, Lane and Mrs. J. F. Scott, Plans were made to prepare boxes for the shut-ins. The Sunday school concert was set for December 29 when a social evening will be enjoyed with treats and gifts for the children. The meeting was clos- ed with the Grace and' a dainty Christmas lunch was served by Mrs. Ed Davies and Mrs. Al- fred Rollinson. She closed her message with a prayer written by the missionary Miss Dor- othy Douglas. The offering was' received by Mrs. Roy Daer and Dr. D. J. Lane offered a prayer of th- anksgiving. A film "Our North American Neighbours" was shown by Donald Haines. This colourful film showed the work of the missionaries in the south- ern part of this continent. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the sec- retary, Mrs. Alvin Leatherland and she called the roll which was answered by each member telling her favorite Christmas Carol. A report of the year's work was given and also the financial statement. The CG1T report was given by Mrs. W. Bradnock and the - reports by Mrs. Wilfred Sanderson. She stated that the children are still collecting used Summerhill Club Attended By Twenty Members Mrs. E. Ellis was hostess to the Summerhill Ladies Club when they held their Christmas meeting in the hall on Decem- ber 6. 20 members and two visitors were present. Mrs, Lovett had a reading en "Christmas" and read about "Santa Claus" for the children. The treasurer's report showed a balance of $4193. Mrs. Keith Tyndall thanked 'the club for the card that was sent to her. Mrs. Ross Lovett and Mrs. William Jenkins were appoint- ed to attend the Clinton Public Hospital Auxiliary meeting in January, Plans were made to have the first card party of the season on January 5. $10 will be sent to the Huron Chil- dren's Aid Society for Christ- mas, The program started with a reading by Mrs. Farquhar "Somebody's Mother". Mrs. Neville Forbes gave a demon- stration on making table favors for Christmas. Mrs. Percy Gibbings had a reading "Just Before Christmas". Mrs. Wil- liam Gibbings had a contest won by Mrs. Donald McLean. The raffle was won by Mrs. Westerhout. The next regular meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Chester Farquhar on January 10. Those on the pro- gram will be Mrs, Russell Good, Mrs. Heard, Mrs. Ivan Hoggarth and Mrs. William Jenkins, Those to serve lunch will be Mrs, James Snell, Mrs, George Colelough, Mrs. Percy Gibbings and Mrs, Ivan.
