Is Featured
At Dawson Creek
Featured in the Dawson
Creek Star, the weekly news-
paper at Dawson Creek, Yukon,
was Mrs. Mac Taylor (nee
Jayne Mary Snell). Mrs. Tay-
lor is night nurse on the staff
of the St. Joseph's Hospital of
that city.,
A story complete with three
pictures told the story of the
night's work for Mrs. Taylor,
who is described as "slight,
blonde and extremely attrac-
tive". She serves in the mater-
nity and medical wards.
Mr. and Mrs, Taylor were
married in August and moved
to Dawson Creek.
They plan to buy a ranch
and go into the business of
raising beef cattle. At the pre-
sent time Mr. Taylor is teach-
ing at Central Junior High
School. He is an agricultural
college graduate, and for a
time was an account executive
with the IVIacLaren Advertising
.tAgencY.
In the wane issue of the
Dawson Creek News is a pic-
ture of Mac in his kilt, beat-
ing the drums for a piper, as
they present music for a tea-
chers convention. Their rendi-
tion of a swing version of the
"Saints Go Marching In" is re-
ported' to have done a credit
to Louis 'Armstrong.

Kippen East Women's Insti-
tute held their citizenship and
education meeting at SS 9,
November 15 and had as their
guest speaker Miss A. McGow-
an, Goderich, representative of
the Children's Aid Society who
spoke on the work and welfare
of the Society.
Roll call was answered with
"Name your choice for Citizen-
ship of the Year in your com-
munity, and why."
Motto, homes are the green-
houses where the plants of citi-
zenship are started, prepared
by Mrs. Charles Eyre, was
given by Mrs. Wilmer Broad-
foot.
One of the main projects
this winter will be sewing for
theWax Memorial Children's
Hospital at London, for which
Mrs. Alex McGregor is conven-
er. Mrs. John Sinclair report-
ed for the district executive
meeting at Hensall.
Future euchres are to be held
in the schools this winter. One
of the humorous highlights of
the evening was the parade of
kitchen chapeaus, made and
modelled by the members
Prize winner was Mrs. Charles
Eyre. Mrs. Stuart Pepper cap-
tured the prize for having most
gadgets on her hat.
Mrs. R. Upshall contributed
a poem. President Mrs, James
Drummond presided for the
business; Mrs. Grant McLean
for the program.
New 'Phone Books
Issued for
Clinton Users
New telephone directories by
the dozens are now in the hands
of telephone users in Clinton,
and surrounding territory,
W. W, .HaYsoni, Bell. Tele-
phone Manager for this region,
said this week that about
770 copies of the 1961 directory
had been dioributo throughout
the area served by the Strat-
ford-Goderich directory.
Telephone users. in Clinton
will receive 2,450 copies of the
1961 'telephone book, compared
with 2,400 a year ago.
"Use yOur new directory,"
urges Mr. 1-Tays$orn, "Continued
use of the old one may lead' 110 wrong numbers since the new book contains new and chang-
ed listings."
Mr. Haysiorn said that a good
way to avoid confusion and
wrong numbers because of
changed and new listings is for
each subscriber to bring his
Blue Book of Telephone Num-
bers or other perSonal lists of
numbers, up to date and to
consult them before placing a
call. Extra copies of the Blue
Book, in two sizes, may be ob-
