Mr. and Mrs. Don MacAuley and four children, Hamilton, called on friends in the village recently, Mr. MacAuley, for- mer principal of Bayfield Pub- lic School is now a member of the teaching staff at Teachers College, Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Att- wood and Timmie, Sarnia, vis- ited his sister Mrs. Alvin Dutot and family, Goderich Township over the weekend'. Mrs. Harold King who accompanied them was' with her sister, Mrs, E. A. Featherston. Visitors over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Arm- strong, Bronson Line, were Mr. and Mrs. R. MacMath and family, Chatham; Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Fleming and fame Ey, Simcoe; Mrs. J. B. Mac- Math and Mr. and Mrs. E. Ross, Holmesville. Guests of Mr, and Mts..eass, Fisher and the latter's mother, Mrs. B. Dunham, at his cottage here, last week were: Mr. and Mrs. More Mountain, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Fraser, Buffalo; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hem- merick, Waterloo, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dunham, London. Dr. Doris Nicholls visited' on Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Fred MeEwen. She left on Tuesday by plane to join her husband, Dr. Ralph Nicholls, who has been attending a con- ference of scientists in. Palo Alto, Calif., for the past two weeks. Guests at The Albion Hotel this week are Mr. and Nine Don Scott, Heather, Bruce and Jennifer, Fonthill; Mr. and Mrs. William Elliott, Jennifer, Laurie, Steve, Jamie and Tim- ey, 'Newmarket, and G. M. Donnell, Brantford, William El- liott and family and' G. M. Donnell have rooms at Mrs. W. Westlake's'. Mrs. Richard P. Barnard and children Colby, Teb and Dana, Franklin, Mich., came on Tuesday of last week to be the guests of Mrs. Frederick Erb, Ricky,' Wendy, Leslie and John through the weekend. Mr. Bar- nard and Mr. Erb joined their families on Friday night and on Saturday night escorted their wives to Stratford and attended the Shakespearean production of Henry VIII. The Right Rev. William A. Townshend, L.L.D., Suf- fragan Bishop of Huron, and Mrs. Townshend returned to London on Tuesday after 'hav- ing spent two weeks at their cottage. With them during the last week were their son and datighter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Townshend. Rev. and Mrs. It, W. Foster end babe, Whim also visited her par- ents at their cottage. In spite of the unsettled weather, a crowd' of over 800 turned out to greet the CKNX entertainers who • rendered a splendid program, and music for the dance which followed. Johnny Brent, master of ceremonies stated it was the largest crowd they had ever entertained for a program, and. was, quite agreeable to make an annual date to return the third Saturday in August, 1962. Johnston return- ed home last week after hav- ing visited relatives in Nekorna, N. Dak., for as week. He was accompanied on the trip by Or- ville Greer and son Harvey, RR 4, Seeferth. Mrs. William H. Johnston visited her son Ford and family and Mrs. Or- ville Greer during her hus- band's absence, Robert MacVean and son Robbie left on Wednesday for Montreal to board the Empress of England on Thursday for Scotland. They will visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Mac- Veen, Perth. and two brothers, This is the first time Mr. Mac- Vean has visited' his homeland since coming to Canada in 1947. They will embark for the' return trip on the Empress of Britain at Greenock on September 13 arriving in Mon- Areal on September 19. We wish them "Ban. Voyage".
