last provincial election, we un-
derstand that the Ontario sales
tax was on its way ... It was
one of the thoughts which the
Liberals had in mind for a
method to increase revenue .. .

OF COURSE, WE WOULD
not feel free to divulge who
told us this . , . but it was once
of the leaders of Liberalism in
the county, and his opinion on
this was firm- . .

HOWEVER INEVITABLE the
•sales tax may be, it makes the
end of summer and September

for many a retailer with a sales
staff to train ... and we pre-
dict ;that the Labour Day week-

summer staff is looking for-

CLINTON'S GOOD WATER
is receiving a certain amount
of notice by at least one urban
municipality not quite so well
served . . . The city of Lon-
don is contemplating holding a
vote to xi'eoide on fluoridation
of their water supply .. . There
is much talk pro and con .. .
On John Dinkins Open Line
over CFPL radia recently, the
Clinton water "best that man,
money and nature.can provide"
was discussed . . The water
here, as in some other munici-
palities in the province has the
ideal amount of natural fluor-
ide nalready present .. .
