noon tea 'in her home Thurs-
day, May 18, Guests -present
were her art students from
Hensall and Centralia,
Mrs. J. E. McEwen, Mrs. Al-
vin McBride and Mrs, Valerie
Armnstrong, Exeter, left Thurs-
day, rM'ay 18 by plane for a six
weeks European guided tour.
They will return by :boat.
Mrs.. Sarah Glazier enjoyed
her 94th birthday celebrated
an May 22, and was pleased
to receive callers and was the
recipient of gifts, flowers, and
congratulatory messages.
At the Hensall branch of the
Royal Oanadian. Legion: social
evening on May 19 in the Leg-
ion Hall, a draw was held for
a man's suit vailued at $75 and
the winner was F/S F. S. Nel-
son, RCAF Station Clinton.
Proceeds will be used for the
Legion Pee Wee hockey team.
David Shirr ay, a patient at
South Huron Hospital, Exeter,
recovering froma fractured
hip, observed his 86th birthday
on Wednesld'ay, May 17, with
relatives and friends celebrat-
ing the event with him anid en-
joying lunch with a special
birthday cake. He received
lovely cards, :flowers and
treats.
Services in the United Chur-
ch Sunday morning were larg-
ely attended. Rev. Currie Win -
law gave a very inspiring mes-
sage on "Life's Hidlden. Power".
The Junior choir led the serv-
ice of praise and sang, "There's
a Friend for Little Children,"
Miss Ann Mickle sang a lovely
solo, "In the Garden". Miss
Greta Lannmie •accompanied at
the piano. Flowers in the ch-
urch were in memory of Mrs.
W. R. Dougall and Mrs. Joseph
Hudson.
Arnold Circle
Mrs. Beverley Beaton pre-
sided for the Arnold Circle
meeting in Carmel Presbyter-
ian: Church Monday evening
and Miss Hannah Murray con-
d'uoted the worship and pro-
gram. Members answered roll
call with a verse containing
"Hope"
The Mission Band rally will
be held at Seaforth, Saturday,
May 27. All members should
meet at the church at 1.45 p.m.
