Chimes Installed
To Broadcast From
Hensall Church
(IIensal' Correspondent)
This week will see the in-
auguration of something new
for Hensall United Church, and
for the village. The official
board of the local United Ch-
urch planned to install sound
amplification equipment for the
church auditorium. Two mem-
bers,. who prefer to remain
anonymous, contributed funds
to provide for an enlargement
of this equipment so as to
enable it to be used for exter-
lior amplification as well.
This will mean that begin-
ning on Christmas Eve and on
Christmas Sunday morning, and
on each subsequent Sunday
morning prior to the hour of
church worship, church chimes
and carillon bells will ring out
from Hensall United Church.
The members of the church
are deeply grateful to those
whose gifts have made this pos-
sible, and hope that the chimes
will provide a real inspiration
to all who hear them. 0

Parr Line Forum
Says "Help the
Needy Nations"
(Hensel' Correspondent)
Parr Line Farm Forum thinks
Canada should spend more mon-
ey to assist undeveloped coun-
tries. The Forum suggested one
per cent of the national income
(350 million) should be taken
from the defence' udget to buy
food for hungry countries. "We
think it. would be better to
make use of our food surplus
instead of wasting it," they
commented.
They felt distribution of food
would help solve the farm sur-
plus 'problem in Canada. In
addition, besides improving the
morale of the undeveloped
countries', it would be good pub-
lic relations for Canada. They
suggested the use of a food
bank as a source of assembling
surplus food and adding to the
variety of food the people re-
quire.
The meeting was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Robinson. Euchre winners were
Mrs. A. Reichert, Mrs. J. Sol-
clan, Ivan Reichert and Glen
Weido. Next meeting will be
held January 9 at the home of
Glen Waldo.
