Second Assembly In New Auditorium (By peter Robertson., 12A) The 'second' assembly of the student body was held in thhe auditorium on Friday morning, December e. The program op- ened with the playing of "God Save The Queen". Scripture was read by Egbert Bakker. Steve Scotebmer, president of the Student's Council, spoke on the current business of the Council, Mr, Cochrane then in- troduced Mr, Deane, of the Curtis Publiehing Company who spoke about the magazine cam- paign. During the program, a brief singsong was held, under the direction of Mr, Middieton, Mr, Cochrane stated that the next assembly, depending on the in- stallation of the stage curt- ains, would probably be held on December 13, The program closed with the singing of "0 Canada." Clinton District Collegiate Institute extends a cordial invitation to all residents of Clinton and its surrounding area to attend the annual COMMENCEMENT Friday, December 9, at 8 p.m. 48b 4. Brucefield WA Annual Meeting Elects Officers (Brucefield elorrespendent) The Woman's Association of the Brucefield United Church held their Christmas meeting on Tuesday, December 6 with an attendance of 35. Mrs, John Aikenhead and Mrs. John Mc- Gregor had charge of the de- votianel period. Mrs. Aikenhead gave the topic, "The Time of Promise," Mrs, McGregor read from Isaiah 9; 2-7, Psalms 18; 28, and led in prayer, Retiring president Mrs. W. Broadfoot, who has served for two years, was in charge of the business session. Mrs. David Triebner gave the secretary's report and Mrs. Harvey Taylor the treasurer's report. Roll call was answered by a Christmas wish. Offering was received. It was decided to have a Christmas tree for the church and to buy flowers far Christ- mas Sunday. Mrs. Broadfoot thanked everyone who had help- ed at the bazaar. The four groups reported on the year's receipts: No. 1, $207.60; No.. 2, $288; No. 3, $182,52 and No. 4, $117. They thanked members and home helpers for their kind co-opera- tion in making the year a success. The Association will buy a new vacuum cleaner for the church and have the new tables finished and varnished. Thank- vou card from Mrs. Robert Broadfoot was read, for the rose sent to her and her baby. A Christmas card was read from Mrs. Fred.
