church basement filled to cap-
The rector, the Rev. E, J, B.
Harrison, was the genial chair-
man for the occasion, welcom-
ing All present and paying trib-
ute to the splendid group of
Sunday School teachers who
work 'faithfully all year, and
culminate their .efforts with a
splendid progeam. Teachers; are
Mrs. Keith Miller, Mrs, George
Wise, Mrs. Donald Middleton,
Mrs. EdWard Wise, Mrs. Ray
Wise and Mrs. Alfred Hudie.
A beautifully decorated tree
and seasonal decorations lent a
real Christmas Atmosphere to
the occasion, The curtain went
up to show some 30 children,
eager, bright and' shiny-eyed,
and from 'the opening "Wel-
come Song" and "Welcome"
recitation by little Barbera
Wise, the pr'ogra'm never drag-
ged.
The audience was much im-
pressed by the quality and var-
iety of this concert. The school
roll call was answered by each
pupil giving a verse of Scrip.
tore. "It as unfortunate," stat-
ed Mr. Harrison, "that learning
Scripture is getting to be a lost
art."
The younger classes present-
ed "This Little Light of Mine",
holding aloft a candle, "Zac-
cheus was a Little Man" and
"Two Little Hands"" sung by
the tiny tots were a delight to
see ana hear as they sang lust-
ily.
Billie Stirling gave a recap,-
tion "ClirL5tanas Wishes" and.
Patsy Wise gave one entitled
"Bethlehem Will Come to Me".
Mrs, Miller's class gave a little
pageant "We Three Kings of
Orient Are" with Danny Wise,
Robert Stirling and Jimmy
Meolldietoe as the kings. Choral -speaking of 'the "Beateedes"
was given by the juniors. Mis-
ses Nancy Stirling and Sandra
Middleton favoured with lovely
organ solos, Mr$, Edward Wise
was at the organ for carol sing-
ing by all,
The program throughout was
presented with dignity and rev-
erence befitting the occasion,
and meintarneci the Christmas
theme,
Following the children's pro-
gram, Mrs. George Wise intro-
duced a hilarious film, "Farm
Inconveniences in the Horse
and Buggy Days," Ross Mid-
dleton, 'the rector's warden, act-
ed as technician.
In marked contrast, the film
"Rhapsody" was a delightful
Christmas fantasy, the story of
a forgotten little fir tree in
the leg forest, which ended up
as a Christmas tree in a loving
home. with a star for his crown,
his beanches made beautiful
and a manger at his feet.
A splendid film "Christmas
Through the Ages" depicted the
contributions made by many
lands to present customs. From
Germany came the carols and
the Christmas tree; from Italy
the giving of presents; from
England the yule , lag, holly,
