court here on Wednesday, Aug-
ust 10, pleaded guilty to illeg-
al possession of beer in Stan-

Hospital, London, Friday after-
noon from injuries received
Sunday, July 31 in a two car
crash on Highway 83, west of
Dashwood. He suffered a frac-
tured leg and chest injuries'.
Funeral service from the
Hoffman funeral home, Dash-
wood, on Monday.
John D. Stirling
Funeral service was held on
Wednesday, August 10, from
'the Ball and Mutch funeral
home, 153 High Street, Clin-
ton, by the Rev. H. T. Ken-
drick, Seaforth for John Demp-
sey Stirling, who passed away
on Monday, August 8 in West-
minster Hospital, London.
Pall-bearers were Morley
Counter, Morgan Agnew, Ed-
ward Gibson, Joe Silcox, E. W.
Colquhoun and Cy Bertram.
Interment was in Clinton Cern-
etery.
Born on September 17, 1882,
the son of John Stirling and
Susan Dempsey, Mr. Stirling
lived all of his life in. Clinton,
except for his service in World
War 1. He was a carpenter.
He married Wroxena Powell,
who predeceased him.
Mr. Stirling was a member
of the Clinton Pentecostal
Church, Murphy LOL No. 710
and the Clinton Branch 140,
Canadian Legion. He had been
a patient in the London hospi-
tal for the past five weeks.
Surviving are one brother,
William 3. Stirling, Lansing,
Mich,; and his sister-in-law,
Mrs. Maurice Vanderhart, To-
ronto. Nieces and nephews
from London, Toronto and Det-
roit, attended the funeral.
Antoni L. Tomkowicz
Anton'. Ludwig Tomkowicz
died suddenly Friday in Scott
Memorial Hospital, Seaforth.
He was born in Poland and
came to Canada 11 years ago.
He lived in Auburn for nine
years, and for the past two
years in Goderich.
He was commanding officer
of an armored regiment dur-
ing the Second World War, and
was decorated by the Polish
arid Italian governments. He
was a member of the Canadian
Legion,, branch 109, Goderich.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Joan Ware, and
two daughters, Christina and
Sandra. He was employed at
the RCAF radar school in Cline
ton. Service was from St.
George's Anglican Church,
Goderich, August 8 with burial
in the veterans' plot at Mait-
land Cemetery.
The Rev, Dr. K. E, Taylor
officiated. Pallbearers were
Robert Macvean, Harold Stan-
bury, Clarence Ball, Gordon
Harrison, Elwood Atkinson and
Frank Kloskowlez,
A Canadian Legion service
was held Sunday evening at
the Lodge funeral home. Mem-
bers of the Polish Legion with
'the Polish standard were pre-
sent from Landon.

at the ceremony. Mrs. Alice
Styles played the wedding
music and accompanied the
soloist, Mrs. M. Acheson, Sea-
forth, who sang "Panis Angell-
ciis" and "On This Day, 0
Beautiful. Mother".
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor-
length gown of chantilly lace,
styled with unpressed pleats
of nylon tulle. The fitted bo-
dice of lace end sequins featur-
ed a scalloped neckline and
lily-point sleeves. A pearl tiara
'held her fingertip veil of illu-
sion, and she wore pearl access
sories, the gift of the bride-
groom. Her bouquet was of
lilac chrysanthemums and yel-
low roses.
Miss Tina Lansink, Seaforth,
was maid of honor wearing a
gown with skirt of white pleat-
ed nylon over taffeta and em-
bossed lilac roses on the bodice.
She wore a matching mauve
headdress, and carried a bou-
quet of yellow chrysanthemums'
backed in lilac.
The bridesmaids, Miss Rose-
mary Lansink, sister of the
bride, Miss Dianne Garon, sis-
ter of the bridegroom, and Miss
Madelon Townsend, Seaforth,
wore ensembles' similar to that
of the maid of honor. The flow-
er girl was Susan Hildebrand,
Seaforth, who wore a frock of
pale pink nylon lace, and pleat-
ed; nylon headdress with 'pink
roses.
Peter Garon was best man,
and the ushers were Bill Gal-
low, Goderich and Douglas
Mann, Clinton.
The receptlon and: wedding
dinner were held in Seaforth
Legion Hall, Later the couple
left on a wedding trip to North-
ern Canada, and on their re-
turn will reside in Clinton.
Guests were present from To-
ronto, Welland, Sherbrooke,
Quebec, Bayfield, Goderich,
Clinton, Seaforth and Mills-
burg, Ohio.

Church School Has
Picnic at Lions
Park in Seaforth

The church school and con-
gregational picnic of St. An-
rew's Presbyterian Church,
Clinton was held in Seaforth
Lions Park on Wednesday, July
27. Winners of the sports ev-
ents were as follows:
Under five, girls, Debbie
Colquhoun, Dianne Anderson;
boys, Danny Colquhoun, Leo
Horbanuik; five, to seven, girls,
Faye Farquhar, Leila Horba-
nuik; eight to ten, girls, Linda
Hicks, Sandra Steep; boys,

har; 11 to 13, girls, Frances

Following the sports the la-
dies prepared the supper for
approximately 50 people.
