Canada with them and a family
of eight was born to them in
Canada.
Over 50 enjoyed this event
and plans were made for the
reunion to be held the third
Sunday in. Jelly, 1961, et Har-
bour Pare, Goderich.

Picnic Held
A large crowd attended the
annual picnic of the Grace Un-
ited Church Sunday School in
Harbour Park, Goderich on
Monday evening of this week.
After everyone enjoyed a most
bountiful supper a lengthy pro-
gram of races and sports un-
der the direction of Mr. and
Mrs. William Harris, ego and
Mrs. Harry Torrance, Keith
Cox and Laurene Cox was en-
joyed by all,

Mrs. Margaret Taylor, Bell-
villa, was guest speaker at
Knox Presbyterian Church last
Sunday when she spoke of the
Deaconess Training Home in
Toronto and told about the
work of the church being car-
ried out since its founding in
1897, Her children, Kenneth,
Sherrill and Marylie accompan-
ied her.
Harry Arthur is a patient in
Clinton Public Hospital, Her-
bert Mogridge and James Mc-
Whinney are also hospitalized.
Stewart Youngblut was rush-
ed to Clinton Public Hospital
last Wednesday evening when
two fingers were cut off in the
hay baler.
Sheriff and Mrs. Harry
Sturdy, Goderich, were recent
guests with Mr. and Mrs. Ro-
bert J. Phillips,
Mrs. Major Youngblut is a
patient 'in Goderich hospital
where she underwent surgery
recently.
Mr. and Mrs, Mel Osmond
and family of Toronto visited
recently with Mr. and Mrs.
William T. Robison.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Rath-
well, Michael and Janice, St.
Catharines, are vacationing at
Port Elgin,
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wall
and family, Langside, visited on
Sunday with relatives here.
Mrs. Lloyd Walden, Carlyle,
Saskatchewan, visited with her
father-in-law, Jesse Walden,
Percy Walden and Miss Viola
Thompson last week.
The Walden reunion was
held last Saturday at Harbour
Park, Goderich when relatives
from Hensall, Seaforth, Luck-
now, Blyth, Westfield and Au-
burn joined' in this family pic-
nic.
Decoration Sunday will be
held at Hope Chapel cemetery,
Hullett Township on July 31,
1960 at 3,30 p.m. with Rev. H.
Funge in charge.

Gus Bisback had the surprise
of a life time last Wednesday
when he saw his brother from
Belgium for the first time in 46
years. He came to Canada to
visit with his daughter and his
two brothers, Victor Bisback,
Seaforth, and Gus Bisback, Au-
burn.

Scavenger Hunt
The CGIT girls enjoyed a
scavenger hunt last week in
place of the Weiner roast which
had to be postponed because of
the weather. The captains were
Rose Marie Haggitt and Jannett
Dobie, with Jannett's team the
winners. Games were played
when they returned and a de,
licious lunch was served by
Margaret Haines, Barbara Sand-
erson, Mrs. Duncan MacKay and
Mrs. Wes Bradnock. Twenty-six
girls took part in this event.
Leaders and assistants in the
Daily Vacation Bible School held
this week in Auburn met to see
the film and hear the commen-
tary on the study that is being
covered this year. The theme
is "Pioneering with Christ" and
there is a very large attendance
at all classes.
Several of the elder citizens
attended the octogenarian picnic
last week at Goderich,

Chub met at the home of Mrs.
William Hunking with the
president, Mrs. George Schnei-
der in the chair. Prayer was
by Mrs. James McDougall. The
minutee were reed by the sec-
retary, Mrs. Lorne Hureceng.
Roll call was answered by the
payment of fees by 19 adults
and 12 children were present,
The election of officers took
place and results were as fol-

The draw was won by Mrs.
Stanley Ball. Plans were made
for the annual picnic to be held
at Ball's Grove with Mrs. Lorne
Hunking and Mrs. Carman
Gross' in charge of the sports.

and Mrs. J. Jackson were en-
joyed and a delicious lunch was
served by Mrs. Lloyd McClin-
chey, 1Vers, Garth McClinchey,
Mrs. Elliott Lapp and MOS.

drawn for the secret club sis-
ter for the coming year, The
names of the secret sister that
each member had during the
past year will be revealed at
the picnic.
Entertain Children
The children of the district
were guests of the Auburn Wo-
men's Institute for their July
meeting. The president, Mrs.
Thomas I-loggia presided, Mrs.
Robert J. Phillips was at the
piano. The minutes were read
by Mrs, Ed. Davies in the ab-
sence of the secretary, Mrs.
Bert Craig. The convener of
the card committee, Mrs. Clif-
ford Brown toed of the cards
'sent during the month and read
the thank-you notes.
Mrs. Haggitt welcomed the
children which presented the
program. Piano solos were
played by Marilyn Daer, Jen-
nifer Grange, Margaret Hainee;
a duet by Nancy Anderson and
Betty Moss. Highland Scotish
dancing by jannetit Dobie and
Janet Young, They danced the
sword dance and the Highland
