Maw, Miele, is vacationing
with his wife and two children
at the Genteinhardt-Knight re
sidence on Louisa Street. Their

of last week after visiting her

Donald McKenzie and Miss Do-
reen McKenzie left on. Tuesday
for a short visit in Pickford,

brated their silver wedding ata
niversary with a family dinner
at "The Little Inn" with an
attendance of 21,
For this occasion the small
dining room was decorated
with baskets of peonies and
madonna lilies. The bride's
table was centred with an an-
niversary cake, flanked by pink
tapers and the floral decora.-
tion for tables was of white
orange blossom and sweet peas.
This 25th anniversary cele-
brated their marriage in Lon-
don with the Rev, Charles Mil-
hard officiating.
The bride was formerly Miss
Vera Trick, youngest daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs, Levi
Trick. The groom is the son Of
the late Mr. and Mrs. B. Law-
rence, Clinton, They have re-
sided in Hamilton ever since
their marriage Where Fred has
been a member of the Hamilton
teaching staff 'for 33 years,

and aunt of the bride; Mr. and

Trousseau Tea
For E. Grainger
Held By Mother

On Saturday, July 2, Mrs.
Russell Grainger entertained
at a delightful trousseau tea
for her daughter, Miss Elaine
Grainger. The spacious home
of her mother, Mrs. T. Snow-
den, Blue Water Highway,
Stanley Township, in which
the family will shortly take up
residence, was decorated with
a profusion of summer flowers
of various hues for this occas-
sion.
Mrs. Grainger wore a green
flowered silk frock, and was as-
sisted in receiving the many
guests by the bride-elect in
blue crystal charm, and the
mother of the groomsto-lbe,
Mrs. V. Deichert in a pink
flowered silk. All wore cor-
sages of red carnations.
Mrs. Thomas Snowden and
Mrs. J. Downie, Strathroy, cir-
culated amongst the guests,

showed the trousseau while
Mrs. Clifford Pepper and Miss
Norma Geiger were in the tea
room.

The old Thomson farmhouse
on the north bank of the river
was entered on Monday after-
noon and considerable damage
done in broken windows. The
boards covering them which
had just been nailed on that
day had been pulled off an hour
later and every window brok-
en, It is a pity that citizens
(perhaps minors of the fair
sex) have no respect for other
people's property!
