Juveniles Begin
Season With
Two Victories
Goderich Juveniles will meet
the Legion sponsored' Juvenile
nine in Clinton on Saturday ev-
ening at 6.30 p.m. The locals
have had a good start to the
season, winning two games
from Seaforth with scores of
13-5 and 8-2.
These are good games, full
of the best in minor baseball,
and the young men need your
support. New backstops at the
diamond in Clinton Community
Park have been erected this
year, and the field put in top
condition. Enjoy an evening
out of doors at the ball park.
In Saturday's game at Sea-
forth, only two Clinton players
hit safely, John Jacob and Ron
Livermore each getting two
singles each. Clinton had four
hit batsmen and ten walks to
account for their runs. Charles
.
Bartliff struck out eight Sea-
forth men in the seven-finning
game.

Court At Goderich •
Deals With Cases
A charge of ;assault levelled
at a 66-year-old Bayfield man
was dismissed by Magistrate
Glenn Hays in magistrate's
court, Goderich, last Thursday.
Joseph Kelly pleaded not
guilty to the charge which
arose out of a fracas with 42-
year-old Neil Errington, of
Stratford. Errington told the
court he sold Kelly •a refriger-
ator two years ago and had on-
ly received two payments of
$20 on it in the interim. He
said he went to see Kelly about
the money owing last Sunday
and received a black eye and
injured lip after a verbal ex-
change with Kelly.
Used Left Hand
Kelly said "I nailed him with
my left hand while he held my
right arm 'around a verandah
post."
Frederick Telford, Bayfield,
was convicted of having liquor
in a place other than his resi-
dence on May 19, and was fin-
ed $20.
