Matter of fact-it probably all started with a date made by a phone call.
And when it comes to detailed arrangements, planning, orders, and the
inevitable last-minute changes-then your telephone really becomes com-
pletely indispensable.
Actually, that is true for so Many things we do: the telephone is always
there, always ready to help and to serve. We. take it for granted, it's so
handy and so inexpensive.

While it is known that there
are approximately 100 forme of
arthritis and rheumatic diseases,
there are no recent figures on

The only available data was ob-

canadian workers and. business
9,000,000 work days annually, wAh
a resulting loss Of $75,000,000 each
year in wages alone, •
These figures did not take into
account. the heavy costs of bospi-
-bal. and medical treatment, of
drugs, the care of the family; and
other related .expenses borne by
the sufferers, their families, and
the taxpayers,.
- The fact that in ten years: Can-
ada's population has increased
from 14 million to 171/2 million
and the grass national prodUot
increased. 75 percent, suggests
that the • rheumatic diseases pose
an increasing problem, not only to
'health and happiness, but to the
National economy as. well. •
For the .purpose of aiding and
furthering the Society's program
to assist sufferers from the rheu-
matic diseases; CARS wants pres-
ent-day facts. With -the support
of the Ontario PharrnacisW. As-
s, the; Ontario, D1,4$ion
plans to Obtain: these facts as
well as to give factual information
by a selected area, confidential,
free registration-of arthritis, suf-
ferers through their drug- stores.
"Perhaps the . most -important
feature of this,Registration is that
it will •enable the Society to get
factual hiferniation in the Bands
of the sufferers," says Dr. D. C,
Graham, Medical Director.'
For those who suffer from Ar-
thritis and are unable to visit
