Pillow speakers for the new
wing of the Huron County Home
will be purchased by a combined
fund-raising effort of the Lions
Clubs of 'the County. Announce-
ment of this was made officially
last 'week by John G. Berry, clerk
of the county of Huron. Nelson.
Hill, secretary-treasurer of the
committee set up for the purpose,
reports that about 50 of these
speakers will be purchased,
Appreciation for this effort on
the part of the Lions Clubs is
made by the County Council and
members of the County Home
Committee in particular, Orig-
inal plans for the county home ad-
dition had called far this type of
equipment, but in order to trim
the .budget as closely as possible,
the pillow speakers were dropped
out.
Idea behind the speakers is that
those residents of the Home that
are bedfast, may listen to events
put on in the auditorium of the
Home, without leaving th e ir
rooms. It will give them a sense
of participation, and help to lift
the lonely feeling which being in
one room is bound to impose.
Contribution to this project may
be made through any of the Lions
Clubs in the County of Huron, or
may 'be sent direct to John G.
Berry, Godenich or to Nelson. Hill,
secretary-treasurer, Goderich. In
any case the amount given will be
credited to the Lions Clubs pro-
ject as a whole
