General convener for the tea ter,- ved in the residence was Mrs, Harry Ball„ and assisting her were Mrs. Arthur Knight, Mrs K. S. Woad, and Mrs, Williant,Craig. Hostesses were Mrs. F. G. 'Thom- pson, Mrs. Harold C. Lawson, and Mrs. Irene Wolsey. Mrs, Clifford Epps was in char- ge of the • floral arrangements. Daffodil forsythia, grape hyacin- th• and yellow tapers' were arran- ged on a cut work cloth on the tea table. Sharing honors at the tea-table were Mrs. John, Sutter, Mrs, Frank Fingland, Mrs. D. J. MacDon- ald, on May 3, Marion Pepper, president, opened the meeting with the pledge. 12 members ans- wered roll call, "One way I Could Improve My Food Selection." The minutes of the last meeting were read by Linda MacDonald. Lead- ers discussed the different cuts of pork. They demonstrated how to cook braised liver with Vegetables. Home 'assignment was work on books. The next meeting was held at the home of Mrs. H. Monaghan on May 10. The pledge was repeated in Unison and the roll call was "One good reason for using Liver." Helen Livermore read the minutes. The girls learned how to plan a menu. The home as- signments were: hoW to plan a days meal for your family, and work on record books.' The seventh, meeting was held at the'herne of Mrs. R. fVfa.CD6ria aid on May 17. Marion Pepper, president, opened the meeting with the 4H pledge. Roll call was answered by a plan of menu. The minutes were read by Faye Car- Hearthside Club Regular Meeting In Church Parlour The Hearthside Club of Ontario Street United Church was held in the church parlour on May 12, with Mrs. Ruth Knox in charge of the devotions. Her theme was "Knowledge and Wisdom". and an article by Bishop Sheen was read. The Scripture taken from Proverbs 1: 1-8 and 2: 1-12 was read by Mrs. George Colcleugh, A piano selection was played by Mrs. Er- nest Radford. Flight Lieutenant Allen White showed slides on the Prairie Prov- inces, Banff and British Columbia. Aerial views of well-known cities were shown. This hour was thor- oughly enjoyed by all present. Matron of honour, Mrs. Lorne Thompson, Brucefield, sister of the groom, wore pink flowered nylon over, taffeta with nosegay of pink roses, streamers and rose- buds. Kenneth Gaunt, Lions Head, brother of the bride, was grooms- man. Miss Marguerite Lyon, Kitchen- er, cousin of the bride, played the wedding music. For the reception in the Tiger Dunlop Inn, near Goderich, the 'bride's mother 'wore navy nylon velvet with sequins and corsage of pink rotes, The groom's moth- er wore pale. blue flowered silk with corsage of roses. Nineteen guests enjoyed the lovely wedding supper. The • bride donned light blue polished cotton with matching bengaline duster, small flowereedd hat, corsage of pink roses 'and white accessories for travelling. Butson, is arriving this Week from England, for a fiVe month stay with her daughter and son-in-law, in Clinton, Also on a visit with Mr. and 'Mrs. Butson, is Miss Doris Stevens who arrived from- England a week ago. Miss Stevens has been living in South- ern Rhodesia, for the past four years and is new taking up resid- ence in Canada. Clintonian Club Plans June Picnic Mrs.' Tom Leppington opened her home at 177 Spencer Street for 15 members of the Clintonian Club holding their May meeting. A talk on 'a cooking school in October 'by Mrs. Scriver, CKCO, Kitchener, was planned. A picnic for June 29 was dis- cussed with Mrs. Colclough and Mrs. W. Fremlin in charge. Mrs. Bob Fairservice and Mrs. H. Man- aghan have charge of the table selling articles value up to 81.00. Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Leppington have charge of the lunch. When the meeting adjourned the ladies went to the hospital for the Florence Nightingale Tea, and tour of the hospital on Hospi- tal Day.
