Mrs. M. 3. S. Barber, Begot-
villa, Que., is spending two weeks
with her parents, Flight Lieuten-
ant and Mrs. R. S. Simone, of
"Shangri-La." .
Mrs. L. M. Burt, Mr, and Mrs.
Howard Burt and three children,
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Burt and
daughter, London, were here for
the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. George Willits,
Royal Oak, Mich., with members
of their family, spent the week-
end at their cottage at The High-
lands.
rMr. and Mrs. Roy Scotehmer
have brightened up their cottage
on the corner of Main and Eliza-
beth Street, by painting it in two
shades of green. They added a
low White fence at the back and
decorating the lawn in front are
flamingoes 'and rabbits to give an
added gay touch.- F/L Paul Lay-
ere and family moved into it the
end of April.

The Rev, Dr. H. H. Savage,
Pontiac, Mich., was the special
speaker at a service in Bayfield
Baptist Church on Tuesday even-
ing.
Mr. and Mrs, S. H. Bryant re-
turned to their cottage on Tues-
day after 'having -been at' their
home in Byron since Sunday.
1- Mrs. A. W. Reid and Miss Kath-
leen. Reid, accompanied by Mrs.
F. Helps, Windsor, came to their
cottage "Enfield" on Sunday. Mrs.
Reid and Mrs. Helps are here for
the season. Miss Reid returned to
Windsor on Wednesday.
The Rev, E. J. B. Harrison at-
tended the 101st Synod of the
Diocese of Huron in London- on
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
last, John M. Stewart, rector's'
warden 'accompanied him for the
Wednesday sessions.
Mr. and Mrs. 3. D, Hughes, Mr.
and Mrs.. E, Pongracz and family
and Mrs. Pongracz's mother, 'Mrs.
Erwin, Detroit, 'Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Gmeiner and son Bart, Gros-
se Point, -Mich., were at their re-
spective summer homes in the
Jowett cottage area last weekend.
Six Years Old
Mrs. Bert Ekert entertained ten
little folk on Saturday in honour
of her son Michael's sixth birth-
day. The fun after refreshments
was brought V> an abrupt end
when four-year old' Wayne Ekert,
jumping on a chesterfield on the
veranda accidentally bumped his
forehead against the window,
smashing the pane of glass. He
received , a cut above the ` right
eye, severing an artery. His
mother administered first aid
and Harry Baker rushed them to
Clinton Public Hospital where the
little lad remained after treat-:
ment. His parents brought him
home on Sunday afternoon where
he is recuperating nicely.
Gayle Turner spent/ the week-
tend in Goderich, withs, her aunt,
Mrs. Donald Sager and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Turner and
Phillip, Mr. and 1Virs... F. F. Arkell
were 'also with them on ;Vlother's
Day.
Mr.' and Mrs. Stuart Sturgeon

. Barn Burned
The fire alarm sounded on Mon-
day about 4 p.m. to summon fire-
men to the property of Mrs. Ola
Elsley. They arrived on the scene
premptly to 'find the old frame
barn, approximately 20' x 30' in
flames. They were,, unable to do
'anything but protect the house
and other near by, buildings, The
barn, is' said to have been erripty
and , cause of the blaze is unknown.
In One hour nothing but ashes re-
rhained.

ferns and baskets of mauve and
white snapdragons and stocks for
the wedding of Ivy Mario Bedee-
haM to David R. C, Toms on
Saturday, May 7, 1900, at ' two o'clock.
The bride is the daughter of
the Rev, and Mrs. Ivor BecienliaM,
Bayfield, and the groom's parent§
are Mr, and Mrs, C. Toms, Owen.

The double-ring ceremony was
conducted by the ReverencL A.
Pyke, pastor of Central Baptist
Church.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride was beautiful in a
floor length gown of white silk
organza over white taffeta, styled
with long illy-point sleeves, with
insert of Aleneon lace at the neck-
line. Her finger tip yeil fell from
a belle type headdress trimmed with seed' pearls. And she carried
a cascade of white stephanotis,.
centred with a mauve orchid with
streamers of ivy,

Falls, sister of the bride, was
matron of honour, The bridesmaids
Were her cousin, Miss Kitty Hill,
Detroit, and Mrs. Mary Lou, Mc-
Kellar, and Miss Helen Ruth
Brown, London,
The attendants were similarly
gowned in cocktail-length dresseS
of white silk organza over taffeta
with mauve sash. They wore white
hat bands covered with mauve
baby 'mums and carried cascades
of baby Mums in shades of mauve.
The .groomsman was Frank
Walters, London, and the ushers
were James • Pasman, Niagara
Falls, Ont., Robert Wilkie and
Mrs. Austin McCurdy and Mrs.
Ken Brandon, conducted an en-
rollment ceremony on Monday ev-
ening when seven Tweenies were
enrolled as Brownies. They were:
Lynn Brandon, Janice Middleton,
Sharon Heard, Clara Mason, Mon-
ica Gemeinhardt, Delores Telford
and Martha Corrie.
Mothers of the new Brownies
were interested,, guests.
Mrs. Kenneth Brandon gave
them a delightful surprise party
at the close. She had a delicious
cake iced in white with "Congrat-
ulations Brownies" in brown on
the icing. This was served with
ginger ale.

companied the soloist, 4% Davis,

The reception was held at the
Knotty Pine Inn, London,- Mrs,

piece brown and heige printed silk
frock with bone accessories, Her
hat was as small band of beige
flowers. She was assisted by the
groom's mother who chose a two-
piece beige dress. of chiffon over
taffeta with bone accessories.
The groom's gift to the. bride
Was a diamond keeper. ring.
For 'travelling to Northern On-
tario on 'a two week's honeymoon
trip, the bride changed to a navy
basket-Weave suit with light beige
accessories, with which she wore
a purple orchid corsage.
On their return, they will re-
side in Owen Sound'. Eighty guests
were present, from, London, Bay-
field,, Niagara Falls, Owen Sound,
Detroit and Toronto.
The bride graduated 'from Vic-
toria Hospital. School of nursing,
London, in 1958. 'She took a year's
special training in surgical nurs-
ing in Harper Hospital, 'Detroit,
and 'returned to VictOria Hopital,
London, where she was' assistant
operating room' nurse.
The groom spent a year in min-
ing engineering in the Yukon Ter-
ritory prior to the autumn 1959
when he was recalled to assist
his father in his garage ix Owen
sound.
