'hovel .Basementliss Design
Though a departure from the
more conventional design, this
pleasing basementless bungalow
would be acceptable in any neigh+
boyhood. Designer F. W, Sunter, of
Nanaimo. B.C., and architect D. L.
Sawtell, of Vancouver, have in+
eluded an enclosed patio off the
dining room that is a unique feature
in a house of this size. •
The bedrooms are located at the
rear of the house for greater privacy
and the master bedroom contains
two large clothes closets in addition
to an ample, well lighted storage
area. One of the distinguishing
features of this house is its sunken
living room with tile extending
across the entire length of the fire-
place wall.
The total floor area is 1,270
square feet and the exterior dimen-
sions are •52 feet, eight inches, by
39 feet. Working drawings for the ,
house, known as Design 288, may
be obtained from Central Mortgage
and. Housing Corporation at min-
'mum cost.
