wingham United Church was
the setting for the wedding cere-
mony, Saturday, April 30, when
Muriel Fay Gowdy and Murray
Christopher Dale exchanged' mar-
riage vows before Rev. T. G, Hus-
ser. The bride is the daughter
of Mrs. Gowdy, Wingharn, and the
late Nelson Gowdy, and the groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Verne
Dale, RR 1, Clinton.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her uncle, Norman Ain-
toul. She wore a floor-length
dress of white peat( de soi em-
broidered with sequins: Side pan-
els from the waist to a bustle at
the back. She carried a white
and silver Bible crested with air
orchid.
Miss Merle Gowdy was maid of
honor and bridesmaids were Miss
Marie Kipp and Mrs. Linda" Lou
Wark in lilac gowns with Miss
Grace Thompson and Miss Muriel
Dale as ribbon bearers in mint
green frocks.
George McIlwain was grooms-
ma and guests were ushered by
Larry Wheatley and George Bac-
on,
For a wedding trip to the south-
ern states, the bride chose a green
suit trimmed with muskrat collar,
dark brown accessories and a cor-
sage of bronze 'mums. The coup-
le will reside in Byron.

Mrs. J. B. Levis -conducted the
meeting on Tuesday afternoon, of
the Woman's Association of On-
tario Street United Church, and
Mrs. E. Radford was at the piano.
Mrs. Norman Tyndall took the
devotions, on the theme "Freedom
in the Spirit."
Minutes of the April meeting
were read by the secretary, Mrs.
E. Welsh and the trey surer's re-
port was read by Mrs. George Pot-
ter. Mrs. Charles Elliott, corres-
ponding secretary, read several
thankyous for flowers sent to the
sick, and 21 calls were reported.
Reports of all standing commit-
tees were given.
Mrs. Roy Plumsteel and Miss
Emma Plumsteel sang two duets,
with Miss Emma Plumsteel play-
ing the accomprilment. .Mrs.
George Potter gave' two readings
and Ruth Ann Brown played a
piano solo.

baskets of 'mums and snapdragon,
ferns and white candelabra, was
the setting on Saturday, April 30,
for the, wedding of Nancy Diane
Cuichnore'and Donald Frank
Rooth, both of Exeter. The bride
is the daughter iafrelYfr. and Mm.
Mervyn Cudinore, Exeter, and -the
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Rooth, Clinton.
Rev. S. E. Lewis performed the
double ring ceremony. Lawrence
Wein, organist of the church, pro-
vided wedding music. Bruce Cud=
more, Hamilton, brother of the
bride, sang "The Lord's Prayer"
and "0 Perfect Love."
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride was charming in a
floor length gown. of Swiss nylon
organdy with portrait neckline,
lily point sleeves and: basque
waistline. The bouffant skirt was
appliqued with irridescent sequins
on Chantilly lace. A ruffled lace
headpiece, adorned with seed
pearls, supported a silk illusion
fingertip veil. Her flowers were
a cascade of butterfly roses and
feather 'mums. .
Mrs. Howard (Sandra) Weir,
Detroit, was matron of honor,
wearing a cocktail length dress of
cornflower blue in nylon organza
over taffeta with fichu neckline
and fabric rose detail, basque
waistline and bouffant skirts. Her
flowers were a cascade of white
porn-poin and feathered 'mums.
Misses Dorothy McCabe and Ilene
Hunter, London, were brides-
maids, in costumes. identical to
that of the matron 'of honor, and
also carrying cascades of white
feathered porn-pom
Edward Tigert, Goderich, was
groomsman. Ushers were Alvin
Cudmiore, Exeter, and Elwin Mer-
rill, Clinton. ti
