T R, re#1440,,,u patet, at Aziauiaiu raped The Golf Bug Has truc ar y gain This Season; Many Out to Bayfield Course Gordon Smith RCAF Boxer Will Represent Area In Olympic Trials LAC Gordon"Smith, 25-year-old boxer, stationed at Clinton, will represent this area in the Olympic trials at Windsor on Saturday, April 23, Smith held the tri-ser- vice bantamweight title for a couple of years, and is one, of Yvon Durelle's "stablemates". Boxing in Germany, France and Italy, where he was stationed with the RCAF, has kept Mr. Smith in fighting trim, and his present trainer is Corporal R. St. Louis, Brucefield, who is a recreational director at RCAF Station Clinton. St. Louis was Canadian Amateur Middleweight Champion about ten years ago. LAC Smith's home is in Monc- ton, New Brunswick. He and his wife live at 130 King Street, in an apartment owned by Carl Mc- Clinchey. If he is successful at Windsor, he will go on to trials hi May at Montreal,' where the Olympic team will be formed. Hensall Team Wins Kippen Gun Club Good Friday Shoot (By our Hensall Correspondent) The Kippen Gun Club won the five man team title at the annual Good Friday trap shoot, Friday, April 15, at the Kippen club with 110 out of 125 shots. Members of the team are T. J. Sherritt, Lloyd Veneer, John Anderson, Bill Coop- er and ,Norm Harburn. Shenritt and Anderson also turn- ed in perfect 25's in the 16 yards event followed by Jack Gilbert, Goderich, 24; Charlie Prouse, Goderich, 22 and Ashley Gilbert, Goderich, 22; Lloyd Vernier, Wes Venner, Bill Cooper, Harry Moth- ers, 21; Earl Doucette, Clinton, 20. Jack Gilbert, Goderich, and Har- ry Mathers, Exeter, both had 23 out of 25 in the handicaps 25 bird event And Earl Doucette, Clinton, followed with 22 and Bill Kyle, Kippen had 21. Norm Harburn, Cromanty, won the doubles with 20 out of 24. This fee also makes available to members, all literature on golf and golfing rules. Mr. Hulls said, "With all members adhering to the proper rules of the game of golf, it will be a better game for all of us." County Teams Take Part In Coveted Young Canada Week Clinton Kinsmen Peewees lost out at Goderich on Good Friday morning when. Lambeth defeated them with a score of 4-1 in the Young Canada- Hockey Week "C" series. It was their first game. Seaforth downed Kincardine 5-1 on Friday; and Forest 4-3 on Mon- day; Lambeth- 6-1 Monday after- noon, and were to meet Exeter yesterday afternoon. Exeter Peewees made their first appearance on Tuesday afternoon, when they trounced Mitchell 5-2 at 8.30 in the morning and edged Rockland 2-0 that afternoon. Mayor Bridle interrupted to re- mark that the deputy reeve had suggested going to the board, and Mr. Agnew retorted, "I won't go out those evenings for any other meetings, and I'll not go with 'my hat in my hand to the school board meeting, either."
