Education Hall of Ontario Street United Church on.Saturday even- ing, April 2, All members are ur- ged to attend, Mrs. John Fisher (By our Hansa]; correspondent) Mrs. John Fisher who was spending the winter with her son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Thomson, Toronto, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 27, -in her 85th year. The former Jessie Thomson, she was born in the Zurich area, and has been a resident here for many years. • Her husband predeceased her some yars ago. Surviving is one son Lester, Blenheim; two daughters, Mrs. Lorne (Helen) Thomson, Toronto; Mrs. Roy (Mary) Pax-liner, Wind- sor; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Harry Buttery, San Francis- co, California. Services were held from the Bonthron funeral home on March 29, by the Rev. G. C. Vats. Burial was in Hensall Union cemetery. Special guests were Rev. Bren De Vries and Bud Preszcator, Exeter; Rev. Currie Winlaw, G. C. Vats, and Don Spearman, Hensall. Presi- dent Ross Jinks chaired the meet- ing. Mrs. Basil Edwards attended the wedding of her niece, Miss Violet Morrison, Clinton, to Melvin John- ston, St. Catharines, on Saturday, March 19 at 12 noon in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Clinton Rev. C. S. Index officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Johnston will reside in 'St. Cath- arines. Mrs. George Sawyer, Exeter, was hostess at her home on March 24 for the Hensall Kinette meet- ing, when it was announced that London Kinettes are holding their inter-club May 8. Several thank- you notes were read expressing appreciation of lovely potted daf- fodil plants given to ill and shut- ins on March 20. 48 plants were given out. Mrs. Harold Bonthron won the raffle brought by Mrs. George Beer. Hensall' Rebekahs Meet (By our Hensel' correspondent) Noble Grand Mrs. Gleim Hall presided for the meeting of Am- ber Rebekah Lodge, held in the Hensall Lodge hall. March 16, when members of lauronic Lodge, Clinton, were guests. The degree was conferred on two candidates from Clinton Lodge under direc- tion of degree captain Mrs.. Leona Parke. Reporting for the visiting cocrn- mittee were Mrs. E, Chipehase and Mrs. Archie MacGregor; for the finance, Mrs. E. Shaddick; JPNG, Mrs. Inez McEwen, and PNG, Mrs. William Caldirell were appointed es scholar representa- tives to Grand Lodge, Toronto, in June..
