MacMillan To Head Children's Aid Society Work The Rev. R. G. MacMillan, who for eight years has been chairman of the board or directors of the Children's Aid Society, has accep- ted the position of director of the society. He succeeds Mrs. Mary Chaffee who has resigned. Mrs. Chaffee, who came to Hur- on County in June, 1940, as the first social worker has reached the age of retirement." She has wat- ched the whole picture of social work unfold and has helped de- velop the Huron County Society to the scope it has reached today. The appointnient of Mr. MacMil- lan becomes effective in October of this year. For the past 12 years he has been minister of Knox Presbyterian church, and in that time the congregation has increas- ed to almost 1,000 members: The new building which the church er- ected in that time has been paid for, and is a model for modern church architecture. Mr. MacMillan h a s always shown a keen interest in the wel- fare of the county and comes to this position well qualified to un- dertake the important work car- ried on by the Children's Aid So- ciety. He has become very interested in the problems of youth of today and is making a personal sacrifice in accepting the challenge offered to him in his new post.
