A 12-6 victory over Clinton gave
Hensall the Midget hockey tourna-
ment grand championship in Hens-
last Saturday, With the title
Caine the General Coach Trophy
presented to captain Bill Shaddick
by company manager W. C.
Smith following the game.
The contest climaxed a tourna-
ment which was actually played
January 23 with Hensall winning
the "D" title and Clinton the "B".
Bill Shaddick paced the winners
With five goals while Bryan Bon-
thon added three, Jack Chipehase
two and Harold Jacques and Steve
Kyle singles. Budd Boyes• bagged
two and Roger Cummings, Bill

Lose Close Game
To Exeter Team
• Exeter Bantams- squared the
best-of-three WOAA group semi-
finals at a game each last Thurs-
day evening at the Exeter arena
when they defeated the Clinton
Fish and Game Club Bantams by
a close 4-3 score.
Borden McRae got Clinton off
to a one goal lead in the first, per-
iod when he scored assisted by
John Cooper. Freddie Wells scored
two goals for Exeter near the end
of the first period to put Exeter
ahead.
Mike Cushman scored the only
goal for Exeter in the second per-
iod. Freddie Wells scored his third
goal of the game early in the third
period to put Exeter three goals
up. John Cooper brought his team
to within one goal when he scored
two goals, each on assists from
Laurie Colquhoun. Although Clin-
ton pressed hard in the last few
minutes they could not get the
equalizer.
There were -only two penalties
in the game with Borden McRae
and. John Cooper getting these.

Clinton have done a terrific
amount of work with young
boys in sports, both hockey
and baseball, and Include a
top repair campaign at Christ-
mas along, with support of the
swimming pool project and
other community endeavours,
Achievement Day
For 4-H Clubs
Here On Saturday
All day Saturday in the Clinton
Legion Hall, achievement day for
the centre section of Huron
County 4-H Iforriaking Clubs
will be staged. Eleven clubs from
Clinton, Crediton, Elinaville Gode-
rich, Grand Bend, Hurondale, Kip-
pen, Londesboro, McKillop, Sea-
forth and Sea:Perth, district will
take part.
Exhibits will be in place by nine
in the morning. By 9.45 judging
of clothes closet accessories will
begin, with the girls giving rea-
sons, and putting on an activity,
planning a set of clothes closet
accessories, A discussion,• period
will be held before lunch. Choc-
olate milk will be provided, and
those attending will 'bring their
own lunch.
Beginning at 1.30 in the after-
noon, the exhibits will be shown
off, with comments made; demon-
strations and skits will , be held.
Comments by visiting home econ-
omists will be made. Presenta-
tions of awards will be Made. Each
girl completing a project satisfact-
orily receives . a: ' ,,silver 4-H tea-
spoon. '

ern Ontario Landrace Breeders'
Association was held in the agri-
cultural office board room, Walk-
erton, on Friday, January 26. •
Officers elected for 1960 are:

if the county -town were to get
some of 'their collegiate. students
to. attend council meetings, too.

Goderich.

Lucknow was selected for the
fall consignment sale at which
Andrew. Gaunt, Lecknow, will be
sales manager: Tile annual meet-
ing and banquet will be held early
in December in Egmondville.
Members appointed Mr. Keys,
president, Douglas H. Miles, agri-
cultural representative for Huron
County and club secretary, and
Mr. Gaunt, to arrange for a bus'
tour in the Owen Sound area.
Jack Peck, Kippen, was appoint-
ed as the club's representative to
the Huron County Federation of
Agriculture. Approval was given
to payment of the affiliation fee
of $5.
Mr. Gaunt, past president, and
now as director of the Ontario
Shorthorn Club, reported on the
provincial convention held in
Guelph. He told the meeting that
the provincial club is comprised
of 1,030 members. Last year close
to $1,200 was given in special
prizes to 4-H club members in
the promotion of calf club work.
