Beth Cudmore (1), Connie Smith (2), Nancy Caldwell; guards, Janet Batldn, Jeanne CDCI Girls Basketball Team Loses Two Games; Juniors Edge Wingham Yesterday At a meeting Sunday afternoon in Hotel Clinton, it was nnani- - rnously passed that Clinton Minor Hockey Day be an annual affair, during Minor Hockey Week in Canada., The committee met Sunday to complete Saturday's erninor hockey ally business. Owing to ethe suc- cess of the day, the same officers were returned to begin plans on next year's event. The pfficers are Don Kay, chair- man; Malt Edgar, secretary and Ken •McRae, treasurer. The group is made up of representativee froni the Kinsmen Club, Lions Club, Legion, and Fish and Game Club, all of whom Promote minor sports in Clinton. The town council was also represented on the committee. Mr, Kay thanked his committee, saying that each carried out their . duties very well, Don Fulton, man- ager of Clinton Lions Arena, was voted $10 for his part in making the day such a success. During the day $252.46 was tak- en in by silver collection and ad- rnieslons. Added to this was $10 donations from three dabs. The Lions gave the arena free for the day. It' is expected that nearly $100 will be saved from the day to promote minor hockey; 464 people paid admission to the even- ing games; $38.85 was collected when a blanket was passed in front of the evening crowd, and $79.13 was taken in by silver collection during the afternoon. Afser Sunday afternoon's meet- ing, the group discussed Clinton's need for. a recreation council or committee, to look after the town's grewine, minor sporte program. On Sunday morning, the visit- ing American hockey players and adults were given a tour of Clin- ton's t. oldest industry, Sherlock- Manning Piano Co, Ltd, Hosts on the tour were Caryl W, and Mur- ray Draper, The Dearborn visitors were bil- leted in homes throughout town. The committee was grateful 'for receiving many offers of rooms. Most of the boys stayed in homes with local boys who play hockey. Clinton Concert Band led the parade of children to the rink at noon and played several selections between games. Local Chiropractor Addressed Kinsmen Kenneth S. Wood, Doctor of Chiropractic, addressed the meet- ing of Kinsmen on Tuesday night in Hotel Clinton. He stressed the advantages of good' postern, in keeping with National Health Week, which begins to-day. The first of the monthly suit draws was won by Morris Gard- ner, Goderich.
