Phillips. Mrs, John Graham led in prayer. Mrs. Alvin Leatherland was in charge of the devotional period. Mrs. ,Wilfred Sanderson read from 1 Samuel: '1, and meditation was given by Mrs. Leatherland, on "Hannah, the mother of Samuel" who dedicated her son to God when he was born. Mrs, John Daer and Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell sang a duet, "In the Garden" with harp accompaniment by Mrs. Phillips. The minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs. Leatherland. She also gave the financial • statement and said that the society had sent to the missionary work more mon- ey than in former years, It was announced that the World Day of prayer will be held in the Presbyterian Church on March 4. Mrs. Ed. Davies gave the 'second chapter of the study book on Afri- ca telling of the African culture and Christianity. Roll' call was answered by a.. verse from the book .of Genesis. Mrs. Duncan MacKay read the report of the Huron Presbyterial meeting held at Clinton prepared by Mrs. Wes Btadnock. The offering was re- ceived with prayer and the clos- ing hymn, "Pass Me Not, 0 Gen- tle Saviour" was followed by the benediction. St. Mark's Guild The January meeting of St. Mark's Anglican Guild was held at the home of • Mrs. Andrew • Kirk- connell who presided. St. Luke; 2 was read by Mrs, John Deer fol- lowed by prayer by Mrs. Clif- ford Brown. A piano solo "The Old Mill" was played by Mrs. Robert J. Phillips. A very in- teresting message on the New Year was •given by Mrs, Kirk- connell. The president, Mrs. Thomas Haggitt took charge of the business period. The secretary's report was given by Mrs. 'John Daer in the absence of Mrs. Ed. Davies and the treasurer, Mrs. Gordon R. Tay- lor gave the financial statement. The annual eeport showed that the Guild had a very successful year. Several thank-you notes for. Christmas boxes received were read and a letter from Rev. Web- ster, Delaware for the donation of money received to buy treats for the Indian children at Muncey Reserve, and a note of grateful thanes from the Unitarian Relief for the bale of Clothingsent in Dec- ember.' Mrs, Denomme is an aunt of Wilfred and Margaret Mousseau, Bob Baker, Jr. and Bill Mickle, both members of Hensall Kinethen Club will appear on the TV sports program at CFPL-TV, London, 6.30 pen., Thursday, January 21, to help bublicise the Midget hock- ey tournament at the local arena Saturday, January 23 commencing at 12.30.
