featured speaker at the New
Year's Hvangelistie Crusade to be
held in Central Gospel Tabernacle,.

Rev. Jack. West is a native of
Clinton, having resided, here until
entering . the armed forces in
World War II, and later lived in
Goderich after returning from ov-
erseas. He has been actively en-
gaged in the ministry for the past
12 years., and his evangelistic ef-
forts have taken him to a number
of Canada's major cities, including
Montreal, Windsor, Winnipeg and
Vancouver,, as. well as to many ar-
eas of the United .States,
For the past eight yearp he
has served as pastor of the South
Side Assembly of God church.
Springfield, Missouri, where plans,
are under way to construct a new
church building seating more 'than
1,800 persons.
His ministerial labours have al-
so included a weekly radio broad-
cast, "Echoes from Calvary",
heard over a five state area, also
various telecasts as well as in
camp meetings and conventions.
He enters a new field in January
with the publishing of the religi-
ous magaZine, 'The Calvary Call",
a 16-page publication featuring,

Mr, West's key note address in
the Hamilton New Year's Crusade
will be given next Sunday morn-
ing, when he plans to speak on the
subject, "Like A Man's Hand,"
Sunday night his message is entit-
led, "Man's Seven Fears, and
God's Reinedy". The services are
to continue each week night at
8 and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 7
p.m.
The winter convention of the
Pentecostal Assemblies of West-
ern Ontario will be integrated
with the closing nights of the Cru-
sade, on January 12, 13 and 14
when ministers and their wives
will be attending from all over
Western Ontario,

Jack Norman has been awarded
a J. P. Bickell Foundation Burs-
ary, valued at $250. Jack is a
third year student at the Univers-
ity of Toronto, and is the eldest
son of Mr. a„nd Mrs. William Nor-
man. He is a graduate of Clinton
District. Collegiate Institute.

from the Speach From The
Throne that "each one of you has
been summoned here representing
the. Christ-centred boys' group of
Ontario. It is. my fervent hope
that the days ahead will bring
new experiences and richer fel-
lowship to you, and that the
knowledge and inspiration gained
here will reflect in the boys work
of your 'constituency. May God
grant you wisdom in debate, fore-
sight in planning, conviction in
your decisions, and devotion in
service so that you may better
serve Christ and through Him,
your fellow mass to-day, when we
are `Living at the Crossroads'."

In the last session, the Rev.
E. E, Haman commended mem-
bers for legislation passed during
the session. He said that the
world today, like the members, is
at the crossroads. It has a chance
of forsaking the ways of evil and
embracing Christianity or continu-
ing its path to doom,
The parliament passed a motion
in the closing session urging dili-
gent study and personal medita-.
tion in an attempt to aid the fore-

Named. Queen's
Counsel On Jan. 1
John H. Stratton, _Stratford,
who is well known in this area
for his work in organizing the
Cancer Societies of Huron and
Perth, was named Queen's Couns-
sel in the annual new year ap-
pointments named by. Attorney
General J. K. Roberts.
Mr. Stratton was one of 109
Ontario lawyers in the list.
Patrick David McConnell, Sea-
forth lawyer of the firm McCon-
nell and Stewart, also was named
Queen's Counsel.

Delegates to the annual Christ-
mas Assembly ,of the Ontario Pub-
lic .Sehool Men Teachers' Federa-
tion were told it was time they
wrested control, of the standards
of the teacher from the hands of
the government.
The three-day assembly conclu-
ded. Wednesday evening, Decem-
ber 30, in Toronto, Guest speaker
at. the annual dinner was Arnold
Edinborough, television panelist
on "Fighting Words", and editor
of "Saturday Night."
