Mr. Wesley Harvey, of Flaxcombetj Sask., arrived in town Saturday ow ing to the illness of his brother Mr. J. S. Harvey. The latter is not im proving any. Mr. Newell Geiger, of Zurich, con ducted the service in the Main St. United church Sunday evening. Mr. Geiger is a divinity student and his address Sunday evening left a most favorable impression upon the con gregation. Two auto loads, one from Main St. and the other from James Street United churches motored to Mitchell Monday and attended a banquet in the basement of the United church. Following the banquet was a short program with addresses by Rev. Dr. McKinnon, a missionary from West ern Canada, and by Rev. Dr. W, T. Gunn, Moderator of the General As sembly, who outlined the needs of the Missionary and Maintenance Fund of the Church. TO CELEBRATE ARMISTICE Armistice Day this year comes on Sunday, November the 11th and the Veterans are planning a special cel ebration for this the tenth anniver sary of the signing of peace. Ser vice will be held in the Trivitt Me morial church, where the colors of the 161st are deposited, at 11 a.m. to be followed ‘by a service at the soldiers’. memorial, Rev. R. M. P. Bulteel, of Kirkton, who went over seas as a. private and was wounded, will have charge of the service and Rev, J. M. Colling, of Grand Bend, another veteran, will give an ad dress at the Memorial and will be assisted by the local clergymen. The Clinton band has been engaged for the occasion.
