Gardiner with a fairly large attendance of mem­ bers and visitors present. The Pres., Mrs. Robt. Kydd, occupied the chair After opening the meeting by the singing of a hymn and prayer the minutes and roll call were given. The topic from the study book was read by Mrs. John Hackney after which Mrs. Kydd gave a very in­ teresting report of the W.M.S. Con­ vention which was held in Wood- stock. After singing another hymn Mrs. Jas. Gardiner who was present from the Kirkton Society kindly led in closing prayer and the Lord’s prayer was repeated in unison. Eilber left Friday morning to attend the funeral of their brother which was Saturday afternoon at Newark. Ohio. Sc room of the Evan­ gelical church, Friday evening (this week.) Shortly after 7 o’clock the Mothers and. Daughters of the con­ gregation and the community and other friends from farther distances are cordially invited. The program is as follows: Brief address by Miss Loretta Holtzmann, Miss Ella Morlock and the main address of the evening will be given by Miss Bailey, of Goderich; humorous read­ ings by Miss Lavina Smith. Excel­ lent music throughout. All this will be heard after a most excellent banquet. Four long tables will stretch across the banquet hall, all will be tastefully decorated. Mr. Jacob Gaiser, of Shipka was born December 12th, 1854 near the. Village of Cerditon, Ont., the oldest son of the late George Adam Gaiser and his wife Agatha. Married Miss Christiana Kutzle and this union was blessed With one daughter and one son. After 9 years of matri- monal life his beloved wife died. After several years he was again married to Miss Mary Trumner, of Zurich. Twenty five years ago he joined the Evangelical church, of Crediton, of which he was a loyal, faithful and consistant member to his death. A year ago he began to decline in health and died on Sun­ day afternoon. June 10th. Left to mourn liis loss are: his beareaved widow, the daughter, Mrs. Jacob Ratz, near Khiva; the son Mr. Al­ bert Gaiser, of Shipka and eight grand children. All his brothers and sisters are yet living and are the following order of their ages: Mrs. uga; Mrs. Mrs. Miss Mrs, Mr. Fred Gaiser, of Crediton and Mr. John Gaiser, of Crediton; of this Jacob Gaiser was the -------- The funeral will be held !
