Johns has been laid up for a couple of weeks and was out for an auto trip on Monday for the first time since his illness. , Rev. AV. Jones was confined to the house for a few days last week suffering from the flu. Following his recovery Mrs. Jones was taken ill. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Whitlock, Misses Joy and Evelyn Whitlock al­ so Mrs. Horton, of St. Thomas, vis­ ited at Mr.- P. Whitlock’s on the 24th. Miss Mildred Wood, who has been visiting with her sisters, Mrs. Jack Luxton, of Uborne and Mrs. O. S. Winer, of town, returned to Sarnia this week. Mr. and Mrs. D. S. McInnis, of Paisley, spent Sunday with, the lat­ ter’s parents Mr. and Mrs. S. Sweet. Mr. and Mrs. Sweet returned with them on a visit. Mr. Fred Kerr tied for second place at the Hespeler gun club shoot on May 24th when he scored 195 out of a possible 200. C. Gammage, of Ridgetown was first with 197. Mr. Maurice Senior, of Toronto, spent the week-end with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Senior. Miss Blanche Senior who has been visit­ ing in Toronto, returned home with him. Mrs. Thos. Harvey returned Sun­ day after spendng the week with her daughter, Mrs. A. E. Buswell, of Lucknow. Mr. and. Mrs. Buswell and Mrs. Albert Johnston accom­ panied Mrs. Harvey home. Mr. Wim. Ferrol and — --------- _of Clinton, motored down Sunday and visited with Mrs. Jos. Hawkins. Mrs. Higgins and Mrs. McNeil, who have been visiting here for a week returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Miller and son Warren, who have been in Flo­ rida for some time, arrived in Exe­ ter the latter part of the week to visit with Mrs. Miller’s father, Mr. L. Day. Mr. Miller, who spent the week-end here, is at present with his sister in London. Those who subscribe two dollars and over to the Bible Society will re­ ceive a free copy of a journal issued monthly by the British and Foreign Bible Society..
